I've been thinking of re-examining the movie version of The Man With the Golden Gun and. I was thinking of posting it in the Roger Moore forum but if the staff is interested, I could do it as a full article for the site.

I would be interested in reading that Genrewriter!

I forgot to come back and check this topic - D'oh!

Anyway, there's a lot of interesting stuff to look forward to I think.

I've just thrown together a "teaser poster" for A Shot in the Dark, which I've attached for your inspection and comment. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Hopefully, I'll be able to post my story in the Fan Fiction forum within the next couple of months.

Anyway, all comments appreciated:

You should PM one of the moderators to take care of that 006.

Thanks, Qwerty. Is it a bit too dark on your monitor? I put it together on my laptop and whenever I moves picture files to my desktop for posting they always seem very dark.

Can you guess where I got the Zukovsky head from? :)

Thanks too, Xenobia - I was fiddling with my personal options last night and found something that seemed to fix it.

Is Mr. * writing anything new?

When are The Man from Vladivostok and Death to Spies being put on the site?

Also, what do the readers of this site's fan fiction section think of wonderful selection over at MI6.co.uk?

The MI6 site is where I got my start, and their selection is awesome. It is really great place to start to learn your craft...and to return to. :)

And to double oh...glad I could be of help!

*ahem*

It's not, frankly. I can't find a plot that I like for the follow-up, and I am not going to force it to come. When the plot comes to me, I'll try again.

I don't think Marijuana would help me. :)

Seriously though, I haven't ruled that out, but I am very protective of my heroine, and if she is used, you would have to play by my rules. :)

Oh I didn't mean a joint effort with me since I am well into the fanfic I shared with you sometime ago.

Sorry for the long post, but I think I'd better just explain.

I'm more active with Fan Fiction on "that other major Bond site" :) but I was hoping to get more active here as well- (it's mostly Daltonites over there :) ) I saw this thread and I hope y'all don't mind my own little plug. I'd love to be able to submit some stuff here too sometime. :)

So here it is. About a year ago I wanted to write Bond fanfic. I've wanted to before, but it was last April that I got serious about it- after I read CASINO ROYALE.

One problem. It was going to be my very first novel, and I didn't feel that I could tackle the Bond character yet. So many have that (at the time) I felt I couldn't add much of anything new to the man.

So, I created my own Double-O. Thomas Mansfield 005. It was a name I'd already made up, though. :)

So what I did was this: I'm into symbolism and... all that cool stuff. :) So I made 005 into the darkside of myself and made the underlying story about proving one's self- as I tried to do with the novel itself: DEATH IS AN ALLY.

It's 005's first major mission. It's not supposed to be a major one, merely a sensitive one (being sent into Hong Kong illegally). But it turns into him stopping WWIII.

---------------------------------------------
From Chapter 1 / A Nobody Does It Better

Still, he had always felt that his place in the Section had been like that of a spare tire, kept stored away in the boot until one of the important ones had gotten a puncture- but otherwise overlooked.
---------------------------------------------

It's set in the world of the cinematic Bond- during Bond's captivity in North Korea. The name James Bond is never even uttered in DIAA. :)

The tone of the first one is... it's own thing. I try to sound Flemingesqe, but I do it in the cinematic world. But it's basically what I'd like to see in modern Bond films. I don't like the Brosnan Era (GE is good and the 2/3rds DAD is great) and I think Micheal G. Wilson is destroying the series by turning it into an action one. These films simply don't know what they want to be, and the producers seem to be wimps.

So what did I do? There's barely a lick of action in most of the novel. It's an actual charater driven plot, like fanfic. But it's set in the film world.

Anyway, I'm rambling. My first novel hasn't made to the frontpage of MI6.co.uk yet, but should soon. I'd love it to find an audience over here as well. I'm just trying to give the fan what I'd like to see in a Bond film.

My second 005 novel ALL IN THE RISK is a bit more gutsy. A little more Connery and Moore (both tied as my fave Bond actors :) ) creep in with high gagetry, girls galore, and a toatlly absurd caper. :)

That's about it. :)

Hi,

The Guy in the artwork wouldn't happen to be George Lucas?. :)

All the best,

Cheers,

Hmm - he does look a bit like George Lucas now you mention it.

But it's actually Zukovsky, I got a picture of the "Zukovksy's Finest Caviar" logo and removed the red background, then added a brickwork texture to the rest.

But you've raised a good point - Perhaps Bond 21 could have Bond being sent on a mission to assassinate Jar Jar Binks? I'd pay to see that! :)

If you were writing a Bond novel this year, what would it be about?

In my mind, if you are a terrorist, and you want to terrorize the US, you could attack here. If you wanted to attack the UK, you could do that there. If however, you wanted to attack the whole world, terrorize them, garner media attention, etc., there is only 1 place to attack this year. Athens, Greece.

Easy flight distance from anywhere in Europe, Africa, Asia, or the middle east. A Cosmopolitan culture with it
