Okay, the best documentary on the making of a Bond movie may have been the BBCs gargantuan "Making of The Spy Who Loved Me" in the late 1970s.
My question is this. Of all the Special Edition DVDs that came out in 1999 and 2000 which one has the best making of documentary.

I'm partial to "Inside For Your Eyes Only"...It was great to see Lynn Holly Johnson do an on-camera interview after all these years. It was also interesting and provided some good behind the scenes material.

My second favorite is "Inside The Spy Who Loved Me". That one was longer than the others and we got to see Bach's screen tests.

My least favorite was (although I LOVE the movie) "Inside A View to a Kill". I think this was in large part because Patrick MacNee did not do the narration. I know the reason was because he was interviewed about his part as Tibbet, but it seems lacking with that other narrator.

I liked "Inside Octopussy" the best. Some really interesting stories in there.

I liked seeing the stuff that ran over the end credits showing the stuntmen working outside of the plane.

I like TSWLM's documentary. It was great to see that footage of Cubby making spaghetti for the crew. A total class act like Roger. I also liked AVTAK's documentary but mostly for the end of it where they show a montage of Roger as 007 clips. It was also nice to hear the comments from the cast and crew about Roger.

Yeah, Cubby was a class act....You see in the docs that Cubby truly cared about all of the people on the Bond crew.

That stuntman injury was SO nasty - that Martin Grace guy is a right hard-nut. Although the Jonny Jordan helicopter leg slicing incident on the YOLT isnt so nice either!

I always seem to watch the TLD doc, but I think the best are TSWLM and
Octopussy (V funny when they talk about the scenes in india where so many people were on the streets, they just filmed it anyway. They even say that the guy who rides his bicycle between those tuk-tuks was unscripted - LOL)

Yeah I have NO clue how that stunt dude held on AFTER crushing his hip into a hundard pieces :) HOW did he hold on to that moving train??

I wouldn't even want them to take my pants off at the hospital..I wouldn't even want to see what my Hip looked like now :)

man that must have hurt..

They shouldn't have put that footage on the DVD.. it is sooooo gross:(

That's right, he thought that battle between the two cabs and all the pandemonium was just a regular day in the streets of India.

"Starburst" magazine released a hardcover coffee table-style book on the making of FYEO - it was really cool and a great deal of it was written by renowned Bond author John Brosnan.
I have a copy of it back in the UK but I would love to find it here in the US (so I don't have to get my folks rummaging through my boxes back home). Does anyone know of a seller here stateside who might stock that?!
