I saw this tidbit on a Bond fan's website (I don't remember his name, but I'm sure he's a member here) and I don't know if it has been mentioned on this forum:

Roger Moore was the gunslinger at Scaramanga's funhouse!

I watched it this weekend and, damn, it sure looked like him. Later in the movie, when Bond goes through the funhouse and encounters it, the scene only shows the back of Bond's head, so conceivably, an extra could have played Bond as the gunslinger comes out.

However, other than the fan's site, I cannot find any confirmation of this. A little help here?

I doubt it because I don't think it could have been kept a secret for so long.

This could be one of those in-jokes played by the production crew. If it is Roger.

I read that the features of the Al Capone figure were actually based an a particular person, so it's possible that the gunslinger was too.

I always thought it was supposed to be Roger Moore dressed up as a cowboy. I didn't realize it was a secret - it definately looks like him.

I agree. As for the Al Capone figure, I think he's an actor made to look like a wax figure as he looks like an actor I've seen before but, his name escapes me at the moment.

But, you would think they would mention it in the "inside" documentary on the DVD...

I might have to look at some of the Bond books out there ("Bond Essentials", "Encyclopedia of James Bond", etc.) to see if there is a note about it.

I decided to watch The Man with the Golden Gun last night and the commentary presenter states that the gunslinger is played by Les Crawford who had been part of the Bond stunt team for many years.

In any case he sure looks like Roger.

Huh... I'd always thought it was Roger...

Was it mentioned on the Inside documentary at all?

No, he was Ken Norris, who used to be Roger's stunt dubble in The Saint.

LOL:D

The more I think about it I think that wasn't roger as the gunslinger.. but his stuntdouble Ken Norris

But who couldn't see by all the inside jokes they throw in a bond film..that it could have been "bond" myself.:)
