Had this interesting bit awaiting me in my mailbox today:

The following is a message from Moneypenny to all current field operatives:

As many of you will know from our news service, Special Agent Raymond Benson is
going to be concentrating on new activities in the future. We have been
conducting a top-secret review of the way in which the missions of 007 will be
reported from now on. Results of that review are, at the present time,
classified in order to protect 007 who is currently working undercover. Miss
Moneypenny will not, therefore, be responding to any further enquiries on this
subject, but we will inform you of new developments as soon as it becomes
appropriate to do so.

A number of field operatives have contacted us recently wishing to put
themselves forward as candidates for the role of recounting the missions of
James Bond in print. Miss Moneypenny would like to thank those operatives for
their enquiries, but we will not be accepting any such offers and our policy on
unsolicited manuscript material remains unchanged: we always return it unread.

This is kind of heartening; at least it means they're up to something.
To those who might wonder: No, I did not. Nor would I.

I got this same thing. I think they're just getting tired of getting asked the question about the continuation novels. I say keep asking. Let them know there is great interest and an expectation that the series is going to continue.

On a side note, why is it every official site feels the need to talk to the fans like they're a bunch of idiots? I really hate the "at the present time..007 is currently working undercover" ****. It's so patronizing. Just talk to us like we're intelligent people, not retards who like to

I thought the same thing when I first started reading it. My heart lept into my throat.

Yes, I got that email too and had the same reation. Patronising ****! You expect that for a kids site- Harry Potter or the Famous Five- but for Bond????????

>>I guess they think we're all either very young children or total losers.<<

LOL! :) I suspect the latter.

Do you mean there really isn't a James Bond out there....who is probably incently POed that he has been played by A scot, An Englishman, an Aussie, a Welshman, and an Irishman, and not one of them has gotten him completely right?

If there is no James Bond...whose house was at last August?
