I saw the first 20 minutes and I wasn't impressed. In fact, it looked like a stinker. But maybe it kicks in after that. I wasn't crazy about the first 20 mins of X-Men 2, but I ended up really liking the movie, so...

I'll see it next week sometime. I'm not going near a movie theater this weekend. It's gonna be nuts.

I saw it and any complaints about CGI Bond pale in comparison to CGI Neo and CGI bad guys used all over the film ad nauseum when sometimes it looks like they could have done it with wire work and blue screen or just old fashion stunts. Many extended fight & action scenes seemed like half CGI/computer game. The film was also very very talky, silly overly portentous talk at that. There wasn't as much action as I thought there would be but there was a fun very extended highway chase/fight scene that I enjoyed more than I normally would (it was LONG) because they stopped talking. :)

Good points: Keanu looked lovely (he'll never age because he'll never move his face), some very fun bad guys, new and old who picked up the fun quotient considerably from our rather dreary heros. Basically I had an OK time but then I only had an OK time at the first Matrix, so take it as you will.

I was never that crazy about the first Matrix, but from what I've seen It looks great.

And Zencat, I felt the same way, I wasn't sure about the first 20 minutes of X2 but at the end I really liked the movie.

I saw it today, and I think it was cool. If you didn't really care for the frist Matrix, than you probably won't really like this one. Also, I could never really tell when they were using CGI or not, but then I don't really pay that close attention to those little detals.

Anyways, I thought it was good fun and a great way kill 2 hours

It's a good movie. Great effects and cool storyline and characters. Lags in some scenes, but which are necessary to explain the intricate plot.

If you see it, be sure to stay after the credits to see a teaser trailer for Matrix: Revolutions!!

To be honest, I never understood the hype around The Matrix.
Ok, the effects were quite nice and the story is outstanding, but, well, they could have made more out of it.

The Matrix was one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. The idea that only Keanu Reeves can save humanity is one of the most terrifying notions ever presented. Jesus Mary and Joseph, what were they thinking?

"The Matrix: Rebooted" is the name of a special edition DVD that was brought out. I dont think it included the movie on the disc, but it was basically a REALLY in-depth look into the creation of the first movie.

Well, atleast that's what i read. :)

I'm not! I'm waiting for something good to come out that's worth the price of admission. I haven't seen a movie in theaters since Dec 27 of last year with Catch Me If You Can.

About the game, doesn't it tie up some of the movie's loose ends. I think I read that to get the whole story you have to see Reloaded then play the game and then see the next film (Revolutions?)when it comes out.

I loved Nightcrawlers attack on the white house. I just don't think the movie really picked up until the middle around that awesome scene when Magneto breaks out of prison.

:)

I'm getting worried!! The first film was pretty good IMHO. Not the best, but the visuals were great, and the story intriguing. I'm looking forward the Reloaded mainly due to the hype around it.

I'll be seeing it on the 24th (it comes out in Hong Kong on the 22nd), which is a little late but better than nothing! I'll try not to keep my expectations too high - due to alot negative comments. From the reviews I've read, I'm expecting a movie with a mediocre first half, alot of talking and philosophy but great visuals and fun if you don't pay TOO much attention to the ramblings...

I thought the movie was absolutely great. Some of the best action sequences ever featured in a movie. I loved the first one, and I love the second. Can't wait for The Matrix Revolutions!

Here in Germany, it comes out the 22nd.

Over at ign.com , they gave the movie 3 1/4 stars out of 5. I'll go and see it anyway because I want to know why it will get that bunch of Oscars next year (attention: sarcasm :) )...

Tanger was talking about the Matrix game, I played it on XBox(at the mall across from the theater I was going to) before I was the movie, what a kick@$$ game. The movie was awesome, actionpacked. I can't wait for The Matrix Revolution to come out.

I loved it. The freeway scene was nothing short of incredible.

I can't wait for Revolutions.
