EA Games license to create the Bond games has now been extended to the year 2010.

With the license, they have all the rights to all 20 films - including any films made up to 2010 and all of the books.

This is great! Maybe they will make a game based on the movie 'Live and Let Die' that I have always been hoping for (but i doubt it).

they should stop this original story **** and make one based on an older movie, and give the pc another chance

I personally like the original stories. Also, I heard that NightFire was supposed to be based on 'You Only Live Twice' but during development it turned into an original story.

I think they should do what I thought they were doing after TWINE

make a game for every bond film when it's released

fill in the years in between with a mix of:

-origonal stories
-Novel-based games
-classic bond films-based games

Great. Looks like it'll be 7 years before we'll see another Bond game worth playing.

At least there's the small hope that they'll exercise their right to use one of the movies.

I think it would be very strange for them to have the rights to the previous films and not make the games for them. Surely if they weren't going to, they would just get a license for the upcoming films in case they were going to follow them?

no so tha the can use different parts of the movies, like the car chase on ice from d.a.d, so they dont get into legal trouble for copying. Also i think so that other companies cant make any othr bond games bsed on the books or films.

Well one would aim to buy the options as a whole, and not a part. Just say EA really hit it off with Bond games (well it might mean pushing PC a little better etc...) and Bond games became this big cash cow, if they didn't have the past rights it would mean that anyone else could buy them.

Much like Eon owns the rights to the Gardners and Bensons and chooses not to produce them.

why doesnt eon choose one of the books? i think that would be cool, or for ea to make a game from a benson or garnder book so not many people know about it but they know it is good

EA is the best PC game devolper. I say its a GOOD thing. Look at there game history, imagine what they could do for Bond.

I tried to imagine EA's Nightfire was a better game when I was playing it but it doesn't seem to help.

(Don't take that as a personal attack Warbird, just a personal opinion).

Ditto. I guess the reason why was because it was the return to the PC.

If EA makes games that I have to play A LONG time to beat, then I'll be happy...........If they make a game with the gameplay and quality of TWINE, with the graphics and sound of AUF/NF/EON, then life will be perfect :)

Jimmy Blonde was The Mole?! I wondered where he'd got to.

The EA games are ok but far from perfect and usually you can complete them in like two days. If they made a long game with great graphics and multiple endings, then I'd be happy. Also, none of thhis having to unlock the cheats!

TND was way bad, but i thought they made up for it by making the world is not enough, for the playstation version, i still love that game to this day

the world is not enough and tnd were the worst of the two in my opinion. i personally think nightfire is the best so far.

reasons nightfire is cool:

-bond has gloves when you play
-barely any straight curves
-more swears (hell, damn(x2))
-better storyline
-more weapons
-better graphics engine
-better characters and weapons
-better missions
-better driving missions(first person and third person as opposed to agent under fire where there was only two crappy views in third person)
-more babes

TWINE was a good game. I had it for the 64 platform. I don't mind EA still having the contract, as long as the use it well and don't abuse it.
