On imdb.com, it lists Berry's next projects as Gothika (2003), The Set-Up (2003), The Guide (2004), Catwoman (2004) and Need (2004). I don't see how Halle Berry can fit in Jinx: The Movie in that schedule, do you?

Great idea! I never thought a Bond film could ever benefit from a Jinx film.Originally posted by Rayliottaasbond
If a big budget is wasted by eon on a Jinx movie. I emphasize WASTED. Then this could be good for Bond 22!!! A lack of funds will give EON no choice but to do an EXCELLENT plot driven/minimal action espionage thriller in a similar vein to FRWL.

I agree.Originally posted by License To Kill
If the Jinx movie is in NO way affiliated with the James Bond series ala gunbarrel, Bond theme, having Pierce in it or any other rip off guy pretending he's James Bond, is fine by me.

It's very reminisent of Fleming's novel The Spy Who Loved Me (IMO) in where Bond is just the love interest or guest star.
In my opinion Jinx had a bit to muc hscreen time in DAD and I don't like Purvis and Wade usually and now that they are going off and writing these other scripts eg. Johnny English, Jinx spin off movie etc. I just think that if they are hired to be Bond writers then they should concerntrate on writing an original and good plot for Bond 21 and not go off writing other movies of their own.

Well I see what your saying and perhaps the Jinx francise could be good for the Bond series but IMO it is more likely to damage the series than make good.

Y'see, if this is a spinoff with Brosnan (or some other Bond) just making cameos among others, then fine. as long as it doesn't make the next Bond films suck. (Mostly over speculations Righty007 has made)

Let's see if it actually gets made first.
In some of the DAD PR that Halle did (I can't recall which) the Jinx movie was brought up and she said something to the effect of being committed to 2 films (X2 was one) and one more she was in negotiations for. Also, she stated that she was 36 "and I'm a damn fine 36" but wasn't sure how she'd look in a bikini at 40 (personally, I'm sure she'll look great - Case in point: Demi Moore) so - at the time of the interview - she obviously had some idea of her schedule and when she'd be available to do it.
It's a ways off IF it happens. This town is overflowing with un-produced screenplays (a couple of them mine) so we'll see. Let the poor girl finish what she's got to do and get some rest.
She did tell James she'd always be a Jinx to him, but I don't think to his series.

I do have some concerns that if it did get made it could flop and lose both EON and MGM a lot of money. THAT could hurt the next Bond film.
I didn't think Halle Berry was very good in DAD anyway - she was so... Shatnerian (in the ham-fisted way he has been known to act when not pushed by a director to give a better performance).

If it's in production, then fine. Though I am surprised about hearing about Catwoman, does anyone know who's directing? Burton was interested after Batman Returns doing one with Pfieffer. Berry is also well suited to the role (no pun), as she looks a lot like the Selina Kyle of the comics!

Halle Tosis as Stinx.Originally posted by ChandlerBing
In a major casting bit, Halle Barry will duke it out with villainess Shannon Tweed. The movie will end with a nude, mud wrestling match. Timothy Dalton will make a cameo as James Bond. The movie will go straight to Skinamax.

I would sure watch it IF they come up with an interesting story. I still remember Jinx as the girl that gets captured all the time.
And I don't think it would hurt the Bond series. We might not always agree with decisions made be EON, but the Broccoli-Clan is definately dedicated to the Bond franchise. It will always be their no.1 interest.

I think this because of it's huge box-office takings. Jinx will be the new secret agent on the block; dusty, rusty old Bond will either pop his clogs and go down into video-nasty sequel hell or just get dropped after Bond 22 or something, maybe as the shock surprise of the 50th anniversary, where Bond dies and joins Diana Rigg in the Great Big Honeymoon Suite In The Sky.
My friend is a fan of Halle. He wants the film to take place.
I am also a fan of Halle. Who can blame me?
But this movie has the potential to ruin not just itself, but also the franchise that it emerged from.
Look at some case studies:
For those in the UK:
Tucker's Luck.
TV series spin off starring Todd Carty as his Grange Hill character Tucker. ****. Probably ruined Grange Hill, too. Don't hear about it anymore.
For those in the US:
Any movie based on a TV series.
movie Spin offs are generally poo. Brady Bunch, South Park, others.
They generally spell CERTAIN DEATH for the franchise they were originally from.
So there you have it.
I could be wrong - the Jinx movie might actually prevent the war, er, I mean, er, boost the Bond franchise to a new level, but at the end of the day, we have no control over the outcome of this.
Hollywood is a machine that makes money. They don't care what fans want, they just produce films that they believe people want. If people want them, they have them; if they don't, they don't.
Hollywood doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead; er, i mean, until their pockets are full of cash.
You always need to hear both sides of the story.
I believe that Judgment Day, er, sorry, the Jinx movie, is inevitable. All we can do is prepare ourselves for the worst.
The future is set. Sorry guys.
