The thread about "thumping good read" set me thinking.
How many Benson's are there?
I know there is the 'trully stunning' Die Another Day
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is Not Enough
Then there is the excrutiating High Time - Bond v Roland Marquis - To Kill
Double - Oh it had so much potential, but we take what we can get - Shot
Zero Minus Ten - Rather liked this one, escept for the rather strange and inaccurate bits about Australian Aboriginals not knowing what a 'car' was.
And the abysmal Facts of - wierdo Greek guys running around being all mathematical - Death
Don't get me wrong - I don't mind Ray's work (except for DAD which makes me want to track him down and grind him up into fish paste and that rotten decada book). He is definately an improvement on John's Amanda Hightower and that gastly book where James goes throught the Indian pain ritual.
And the 'thumpin good read' - Never Dream of dying (which I didn't know about).
Is that it?

Dear Mr Icephoenix
Thankyou very much - I had forgotten, but I believe that is the new one everyone has been going on about. Unfortunately we don't get to many of the Benson's down here in the antipodes.
Love Niles
Cold, but still rising

Let’s not forget his non-Bond books, Evil Hours and The Pocket Essentials Guide to Jethro Tull.

Yes...EVIL HOURS is actually a very good book. I haven't read the Jethro Tull book.
I'll edit the above and call it "the Benson/Bond Canon."

It was commisioned by Playboy. It's set at the Playboy Mansion during Hefs annual "Midsummer's Night Dream" party...if that helps. It is cool to see Bond in LA. Also, I've been to the Playboy Mansion so I can now count this as a "Bond location."

I am impressed with Zencat's knowledge of Benson body of work .

I'm a major fan and a collector of the continuation novels, and Benson books in particular. I'd really like to do a Benson retrospective in the way Benson did a retrospective of Gardner's work for 007 Magazine in '95.
