According to a british newspaper Julia Roberts happened to see a few pics of aishwarya and said she looks like the most beautiful woman in the world. Meanwhile prior to EON'S squashing of the rumours Aishwarya became the first indian to be on the jury at the Cannes International film festival. Also the british newspaper, the daily observer, said that Aishwariya was a combination of catherine zeta jones, nicole kidman and renee zelweger. Aishwarya has started work on a british film, bride and prejudice and has been signed on by Oscar winning director Roland Joffe. M. Night Shyamalan is considering her for his next movie.
looks like we haven't seen the last of this young lass....

HEY HEY HEY!!!! I guess everyone's missing the point...which is this beautiful...gorgeous lady (aishwarya) is being noticed worldwide (especially right here in europe) and the point is this lady might well become a mega hollywood star someday.
by the way isn't it ironical that aishwarya is a higher paid, richer actress than julia roberts and way more popular in bollywood.....

I put this in another thread, but I'll put it her too. All this Aishwarya Rai nonsense has, ironically, actually put me in the mood for someone exactly like her as the Bond Girl in 21. A real stunning exotic beauty. Very feminine. More Domino, less Jinx. Bring on the softer babes who seduce men with bedroom eyes instead of the karate babes who kick men in the throat. Maybe Eon should consider her afterall.

Hey! Eric Roberts has a lock on playing psychopaths in movies. Where would action thrillers made for cable be without him? Moreover, he and Gary Busey can fight over the roles. Of course, there's always Chris Walken, too, but he's got more class.

i guess the statment julia made was because aishwarya was miss world 1994 and miss worls are generally called the most beautiful woman in the world....also aishwarya was miss photgenic at the contest....
i guess then her statement makes sense...if aishwarya can beat the most beautiful women from over a hundred countries then i guess she maybe one of the most beautiful women in the world...
i have seen that contest and let me tell u this one has brains too....she spoke like a dream with confidence and eloquency i have never seen before in such a contest.

What's wrong with Julia Roberts? I think she's pretty cute, and a fairly talented actress.

As for the Aishwarya rumours, I think it's a pity it's not going to happen. But the following is an interesting idea:

Rena Owen- "Once Were Warriors"

A Maori Bond girl. That would be, as they say in my peer group, cool. Of course Bond would have to come to New Zealand, but that's no problem. Many scenic sights over here. And NZ is very hip at the moment, with the LOTR trilogy and everything.
