I sometimes wished that there was more of Moore's Bond mixing it up with Moneypenny. Especially in LALD. BOth moore/Moneypenny looked great in the film - how about some kissy-kissy scenes between the two of them in that film?

It would have been great!

ANyways - what is her name in the movie? Is Moneypeeny her first/last//nick name or what?

ANy thoughts?

Jaws99, I made a thread asking the same question about Moneypenny. I was told that Moneypenny is her last name and that her first name has never been revealed. Check out my thread, last time I was there we were talking about what her first name should be: http://forums.comman...ight=Moneypenny

Well, she certainly would have been the right age for him. Lois Maxwell(the original and best Miss Moneypenny) is only 8 months(to the day) older than Roger Moore. They attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts together and he named his son Christian after her son Christian.

Moneypenny was great - I especially liked her response to Roger Moore in TMWTGG - when Bond is asking questions about BIll Fairbanks (remember when she said "DaHHling...!")

BUt she was not MoneyPenny in all the Bond movies correct?

As a side note - Caroline Bliss and later Moneypennies are brutally awful IMO.

That is correct. Lois Maxwell was the original Miss Moneypenny and she played the role in all "official" 007 movies from 1962's Dr. No to 1985's A View To A Kill. Caroline Bliss portrayed Moneypenny in the 2 Timothy Dalton Bond films and Samantha Bond is Pierce Brosnan's Moneypenny. Miss Bond has stated she will leave the role when Brosnan does so in the future we may have new Moneypenny for each new 007. Personally, I don't like that concept. Miss Maxwell appeared opposite 3 different 007s(Connery, Lazenby, Moore) and I think it helped to lend a continuity to the series. There are also 2 "unofficial" Moneypennys: Pamela Salem who played the role in 1983's Never Say Never Again and Moneypenny's daughter played by Barbara Bouchet in the 1967 spoof Casino Royale. There was also an assistant secretary to Moneypenny in Octopussy named Penelope Smallbone(played by Michaela Clavell, daughter of author James Clavell) who seemed to be being groomed for taking over Moneypenny's duties but the character disappeared after only 1 Bond film appearance and hasn't been heard from since.

I wonder what happened to Clavell's involvement with the character of Penelope Smallbone. It's common knowledge that Lois Maxwell didn't initially seem very excited about having a new assistant in Octopussy, but when Lois aged between Octopussy and A View to a Kill, we find the assistant was still needed to keep Roger and Lois' scenes from looking like Grandpa and Grandma cozying up.

The other women who have played Moneypenny have done a great job .Given the climate one cant continue to sexual haress a co-worker . Like the earlier Bonds did.

I hated Caroline Bliss and her big glasses. She was boring and dull.

I didn't mind Caroline Bliss or Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny. I mean Lois Maxwell was such a tough act to follow, I think Bliss handled the job well and Lois Maxwell and her seemed to get along well (when Maxwell interviewed Bliss at the Royal Premiere of TLD).
I hope Samantha Bond stays on when Pierce leaves the role. How old is she? I am sure she would still look young enough to flirt with whomever the new Bond is. Personally, I think she has done an excellent job with her best scenes in "Goldeneye". Interestingly she did not share a scene with Brosnan in DAD, just a virtual one.
