I know about the legal issues that have come up from MGM/UA and why the forum doesn't allow custom avatars. But we only have 46 avatars to choose from. Any possibility that additional approved avatars could be added to the site? On other forums, avatars allow me to quickly identify the poster in a forum. Because multiple posers are using the same avatar, it takes me a couple of seconds to determine who actually wrote the post.

There was a great one of Moore that had his face and was a sort of sketch design with blue/red/greeny colours. I loved that Avatar, I wish we could have it back. That has to be my all time favourite Avatar ever!

How about 5 gunbarrel pose avatars, 1 for each actor? And more Dalton ones...I'd like a shot of him on the yacht talking on the phone when he first says "B,J B"...

And Roger's classic shooting pose from FYEO?

Sorry Tarl, all of those are MGM copyright material. They can get particularly angry about the gunbarrel, which they consider not just an image, but a logo.

Fear not. New avatars will arrive at the site soon enough. Keep in mind, however, it's more work than you may think. Copyright issues are the main reason for a shortage of avatars, and Mr.* will be the first to tell you that.

I'd like to help with the Avatar thing if I could. Do they need to be skirting copyright and directly related to 007? We could have guns (lots of guns) or drinks or other things - moons, planes, explosions, the whole thing...

Sorry, Paul, but signature submission is difficult enough. Adding avatar submission would just take away a good deal of some staff member’s time that would be better used working on other parts of the website.
