Goldeneye, aged 15. Summer '95 I went to see Batman Forever and saw that GE teaser trailer - it blew me away. Since then I've been hooked on Bond.

TWINE

I was 13 years old at the time and had only seen GE and TND before. I remember thinking it was better than TND, but worse than GE. I can't remember who went with me, but I expect maybe my dad and a friend. I don't remember being warned of the sexual content or violence in the film, but I'm also the same kid who saw Jurassic Park in theaters at the age of 6 or 7. :cooltongue:

Die Another Day

In 1996 I saw The Spy Who Loved Me on VHS, and then I became a massive Bond fan I eventually got all of them on VHS, I didn't care much at that time for the Brosnan films, I didn't feel they were Bond, but I desperately wanted to see The World is not Enough at the cinema, just for the hell of it but my parents wouldn't let me go (as TWINE was a 12 and I was only 9) so I waited for VHS. As I waited for Die Another Day to be released my parents let me go and see it as a birthday present for my 12th birthday, I saw it the Saturday after it was released - I was 11.

The Spy Who Loved Me was my first Bond theater experience, I was 9 at the time. I had seen other Bond movies on TV prior to TSWLM.

DIE ANOTHER DAY was the first I saw at the cinema having got into the series over the previous couple of years and consequently buying all the DVDs. I enjoyed the experience of seeing Bond on the big screen for the first time though I do remember, even then, not being able to believe my eyes at how bad the infamous ice-surfing blue-screen work was.

For me, it was Goldeneye when I was in college. Believe it or not, I never saw a non-Brosnan Bond movie until AFTER Die Another Day came out. I saw GE, then TND, then TWINE and finally DAD before I ever watched a single Bond movie with any of the other actors.

The first non-Brosnan Bond movie I saw was Dr. No on VHS. I then watched the entire series through in order (except for LALD and NSNA - if you want to count that one).

So Brosnan defined Bond movies for me, but Connery RE-defined them. I must admit, after the Brosnan movies, when I first saw Dr. No, it was very slow paced in comparison. I had to grow to like the older Bond movies of the by-gone era.

Hmm I'm not entirely sure what mine was. I think it was Octopussy, I definitely remember going to see that with my mum. Yet earlier than that, I can distinctly remember seeing the poster for FYEO in a theater, you know the one with Rog standing in between a woman's legs! (Apparently this left quite an impression on me), but I'm not sure if I actually saw it on the big screen. I do remember the pre-release hype for AVTAK, and I was really looking forward to it. I also remember not seeing LTK, it had bad buzz, and with Indiana Jones and Batman out, LTK just wasn't "cool". Seen them all in the theatre since.

For me, I started my theatrical run with Pierce and his 2nd outing as Bond. James Bond.

I was a Bond fan as far as I can remember. I had devoured all the films on VHS, but for some sad terrible reason, I did not see GoldenEye on the big screen. :cooltongue:

Tomorrow Never Dies was my first Bond. It was magic. The lead up to the Bond film with the media going beserk with television spots and reviews was the best.

The World is not Enough, Die Another Day and Casino Royale were brilliant experiences as well.

LOL.

First one I saw in the cinema was NSNA and the first official Bond I saw in the cinema was TLD. Then I missed LTK because I was only 14 and it was rated 15.

Well, I had no trouble getting into 300 earlier this year -- then again, I saw it with my dear old Dad. Heh heh... :D

It was GoldenEye for me. I was just 16, and had become a Bond fan just a few years earlier, when Dalton was still Bond, but a couple of years after Licence to Kill had come out. I was so pumped to see Bond on the big screen, and absolutely loved every minute of it. I went back twice more. I've seen them all on opening day ever since, and always go see them at least three times in the theatre. I'm such a loser.

I remember seeing Goldeneye in the cinema and loved it. I wasn't a big fan of the score and I seem to remember that the myself and the rest of the audience sniggered when Bond jumped from the bike off the cliff and landed in the plane, but it was great fun.

I didn't see it again until I watched it on video in 1997.

Mine was Thunderball, in what must have been the summer of 1966 (I remember going to see with my family at a drive-in). The first exposure I had to Bond, and what got me interested, was the television special, "The Incredible World of James Bond." I saw it because the program was aired by NBC in the timeslot of The Man From UNCLE.

FYI Hotwinds, there is already a thread about this.

Maybe the Moderators can add your Goldfinger comments to the end of this?

I was never allowed to watch James Bond when I was younger, my mom was basically the one who enforced that one on me due to the films being PG-13. I was brought up on Indy instead, and I always argued with my uncle who loves Bond that Jones was better. One Christmas, however, when I was about 12, TSWLM was on AMC and the second I heard the Bond theme blare as he disabled that camera he was sitting on top of I was hooked. I saw Casino Royale with 12 of my friends on opening night and I was absolutely blown away, despite the cinema having issues with the picture and sound quality that evening. I was 16. :(

First 007 movie was For Your Eyes Only opening night 1981.
I remember the gunbarrel starting with Bill Conti's Funky 007 theme.
the crowd laughing aplauding cheering as bond hung on the side of the copter.
A great Night !!

Die Another Day. I was 13 and remembered my friend acting immature and covering his eyes during the sex scene with Jinx and I had to fool him by saying: "What are you doing? James Bond dies in this scene!"
