Looks like Monday's Great Outdoors (7:30pm, channel 7) is showing Ian Fleming's GoldenEye house which is now of course open for holiday makers. Then, naturally, watch the two hour 24...

Not to be too clever, but the house is called Goldeneye, without the capital E in the middle.

Erm, I'll get my coat....

According to Popbitch, Michael Jackson recently retreated there- ousting the then-current guests and bringing along his not-inconsiderable entourage.

Wonder where he put them all as the house is not big at all. Maybe he stuck'em all next door in Firefly, Noel Coward's house which is just over the next hill.

He'll have placed them on Goldeneye. The house had considerable land which has since been built on.

What's been built there? Didn't know they would have been allowed to, planning laws etc, if they exist in Jamaica.

I'm pretty certain a few other houses have been placed on the lot. I looked into it all once, and GoldenEye is the most expensive to stay at, with the others being slightly cheaper.

Hmm, well I hope it has been done tastefully as there were loads of trees and plantlife there which helped to hide the house from the road.

I had a poke around there in '89 when on holiday and I didn't remember there being excessive amounts of land to develop.

Are there any pictures of the result, do you know?

$6000 per night!?!

Though I think what shocked me more was whichever-Daddo-that-was's penchant for George Lazenby!

They were too cheap to use the Bond theme so composed a phoney rip off of the theme.

Yeah, I picked up on that.

Also picked up on Daddo looking through the selection of Bond DVDs and upon seeing Dr. No, said, "Timothy Dalton".

Yeah, I know, I was watching too closely. :)
