Again, here is poster in response to requests to see Dominic West as Bond (can you guess who by?).

Not convinced myself- what do you think?

Incidentally, this is esentially a BBC Bond-style novel cover onto which I have stuck his face, a gun and some titles- so I can't take any credit.

Guess who?? :)

Thanks for taking the time to make a West Bond poster. I'm not surprised this poster isn't 100 % your own handy work, since your other posters looked much better. I think West looks good enough. But good is not great. I'm sure you could make a terrific and convincing West poster (up for the challenge?). Maybe I'll try and make my own. Don't get me wrong though, I'm really gratefull. You're a stand up guy Mr. Murphy :)

Still a good piece of work there Mark. I'm not convince that visually West is a Bond candidate tho.

I knew this would turn up eventually. Nice artwork though - perhaps a "Hugh Jakman as Bond poster" is next on the cards.

Keep up the good work:)

I'm curious as to why you don't feel West does't look the part.

For the people who are not familiar with Dominic West; West fits the profile of a Bond actor perfectly. Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, he looks and sounds the part. 6', brown hair, brown eyes. Began appearing in community theater by age 9. Has been acting on and off stage ever since. Starred alongside Sandra Bullock in '28 Days'. Also shared screentime with Mark Wahlberg in 'Rockstar'. Is making quite a name for himself in Hollywood. Plays a crucial role in the Award-winning musical 'Chicago' and stars alongside Julia Roberts in Mike Newells 'Mona Lisa Smile'. Further credits include 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'True Blue', 'Surviving Picasso' & 'Richard III'.

For more pictures, click on Picture 1, Picture 2, Picture 3 & Picture 4

Check out the video clips at HBO's 'The Wire'. Especially "Detective William 'Bunk' Moreland", where you can hear a short narration by West in an American accent. You can also catch a glimpse of him in that clip.

Why doesn't West look the part?

I took a look at the photos. He appears to have a mountain of wrinkles over each eyebrow. In every picture he looks either effeminate or rat-faced. He doesn't look like the sort of guy who could walk into a room and ****** anybody, the way Bond is supposed to look. His build is rather slight as well, he's too skinny. Maybe it's the pictures, but he looks weird. Sorry, he just does.

There's also the question of presence. I should've watched for it the second time I saw "Chicago", but I forgot. He doesn't have the presence, IMO, or the looks to be Bond.

Well, in 62 another guy with 'a mountain of wrinkles' appeared on the big screen and did a pretty good job. Who? ????

And his build slight? Did you see the second picture? Someone said he had a neck like Arnold Schwarzenegger. If someone has a slight build it's Clive Owen. Not to mention fan favorites like Jude Law and Ewan McGregor.

And he is cast as the loveinterest of Julia Roberts in 'Mona Lisa Smile', so I guess there are people who think West is attractive.

'Chicago' probably isn't his best showcase. I can't judge though since I haven't seen it yet. I did see West in many other different films. Maybe you should too.

What do you guys think of Dominic West after seeing the following black & white photo-manipulation. Art isn't my thing so don't expect to much, but I do think you guys will get a clearer idea how West would look as Bond. I even gave him a haircut. Let me know what you think.

Hmm, he looks confident enough (i will obviously have to look up this Dominic West chap in more detail), but why is the poster so pessimistic? i mean, "nobody lives forever. Not even James Bond" DAD may seem tired but there's life in the old dog yet...

I don't think Rufus Sewell is handsome enough. Glad you like Dominic. I think Bond will definately survive many generations of moviegoers. Bond forever.

This West-guy looks like some kind of mix between Brosnan and Dalton. Quite cool. But he seems to much of an *ssh*le to me. He doens't have that charming look... but still I could settle for it.

Wow and you still did not feel he has enough charisma? Well, the character he plays in '28 Days' shares no simularities with Bond (apart from drinking habits and place of birth). He's far more outgoing in the film than the Bond actors have ever been (with the possible exception of Brosnan in 'The Tailor of Panama'). Thusfar, West has to played a character quite like Bond. And untill he does, I think it will be really difficult to convince fans he has potential. But he still has at least three years to play one untill Brosnan steps down.
