i was reading the cool darkhorizons website when i pick up this:
"Meanwhile, WENN reports that "The Thomas Crown Affair" co-stars Rene Russo & Pierce Brosnan are re-teaming for a film version of the classic 1930's detective film series "The Thin Man" in which William Powell & Nora Charles played a retired detective and society woman respectively who solved crimes in rather 'witty' ways."
So yes, we are surely getting another great movie like the Thomas Crown Affair.
Hope this story is true.

This is quite true , they are very good together. The chemistry between them made "The Thomas Crown Affair" worth the money . It will be just one more performance of Bond in a non Bond film. This also prove some thing that we have discussed in the posts about a "FRWL" style Bond film . That adults still go to the movies , the Vin Diesel set in all likely hood does not even know who Nick and Nora Charles are.Originally posted by Jeff007
They work well together so I hope that this news will turn into fact.

I was afraid of what a TCA II would like....I mean how far could you take Catherine and Thomas? But a "Thin Man" redo is perfect. Pierce gets to be suave and funny, and Renee gets to be ravishing!
Bravo!

In some quarters , that what the Brosnan Bond movies are considered ! Re-hash of Remington Steele.Originally posted by doublenoughtspy
Why don't they just call it the Remington Steele movie? About the only difference is the dog, Asta.

Sounds good... but I agree that Russo aint right. And I think that if Brosnan wants to move up the movie ladder into serious business outside of Bond then he should be teaming up with big business actresses. Renee Zellwegger sounds perfect and I think they'd play off each other very well.

Yet if you read the post for a new Bond girl , some want Renee Russo. When i see her i am reminded of the "Lethal Weapon" movies. "The Thomas Crown Affair " was a very good adult movie. not a kiddie date film. A thinking man film. Renee Zellwegger as what his daughter.Originally posted by Evil Doctor Cheese
That quater is called the Jim Quarter. It's like the Latin Quater but populated by Jim. It's a nice quarter to live. Everyone has there head screwed on the right way when it comes to James Bond. I have my bag backed!

Renee Russo will be fine - we're not in the 1930's, so not all of the characters from that era would translate as well today - even if it was done as a period piece. I like Russo, so this sounds like a GREAT idea.
I just wonder who will direct it.....

Perhaps, but she's more suited for the role (than Russo for instance). If she was younger, it would've been perfect. As for me, I think I may stick to my original opinion with Zellweger - she's got that perfect hint of naivety (and if her hair was brunette, she'd have a passing resemblance to Myrna Loy).

Yes and Russo herself is one year shy of 50 so they both about break even I guess. Let's stick with Zellweger! What do you think?
