Am I the only one who would love to see a proper "Casino Royale." I'm sure this has been talked about, but I mean a real period piece. No gadgets, no SPECTRE, maybe even shot in Black and White (I know that would never happen, but read the book and get back to me.)

Since CR is already separated by its two unofficial forms, I'd rather not see it shunned even further by a 'different' Bond made by Eon. If CR is made a film, it should be complete with all the frills of the other films. Not DAD-type outrageousness, but Dr No or Thunderball-ish action.

-Beef-up the car chase.
-Add in a PTS.
-Have SMERSH as a hardlining Communist organisation or part of a dictatorial government (surely Eon would not be afraid of offending some totalitarian regieme).
-Add some more 'plot' (or what passes for it) complete with action.

And then you have a fairly faithful CR that fits in with the rest of the films and does not compromise anything for 'periodness' or 'faithfulness'.

NEVER HAPPEN.

Pity. its one of Fleming's best stories. And but you'll find the producers say they used elements of the Vesper character in Elektra in TWINE.

Connery was right, they should have got Tarintino and a story from him. Hell he tried buying Casino Royale but EON out bid him. Which is probably good, it should be done with the at the time current Bond

It would be interesting to see a modern Brosnan Bond based on the book. Of course there would have to be heaps of changes, but since when has a Bond movie ever been faithfull to the book version?

When did connery become a expert on which Fleming book should by filmed > And who should write the screenplay. In 1964 , Charles Feldman ask if Connery would make Casino Royale. He offer to do it as a co-production with Broccoli and Saltzman ,who were still bitter over the McClory -Thunderball production . Connery wanted $ 1 million dollars . Tarintino is all wrong for Bond . As much as one would like to see Casino Royale on film part of the "official" series . It may not happen , the most one will get is part of it.
