i enjoyed the book when it was first released in 1983 . Thought that it would make a good Bond film . like did i know then that a part of it would end up in DAD , the idea of the ice palace . The nazi stuff is a little dated now , i guess the soviet union/russia material also. still that book was Garnder's third Bond book and it came after "For Special Services". You should enjoy it.

Oh how I wish the bulldozer 'chase' had been in DAD. Just as Bond was driving to the Ice Palace, out of the blinding snowstorm comes Zao in his armoured bulldozer with a machine-gun turret on top!
