This week's Autocar has a spy pic of the DB7 replacement, due in production late this year and first deliveries arriving summer 2004. Its a six litre V12 producing about 440bhp. Its been designed, not by Henrik Fisker (designer of the new AMV8 Vantage), but Ian Callum, designer of the previous DB7 and the Vanquish and all round God.
The picture here is of a disguised version....

...but a little potatoshop magic lets us see what I think could be hiding under the tape. What do you reckon? Its quite heavily Vanquish-based, but still looks a thousnand times better than the AMV8.

It looks too much like the Vanquish. I love the design of that car, but I was hoping for something a little less derivative (of such a new car at least).

Very cool! But I still think the AMV8 will be the Bond 21 car.

Probably, but don't forget it only gets launched in 2005- will there be enough of them around to make a proper action sequence featuring it? Didn't work for the Z3 or Z8 and the Vanquish was launched in 2001.
Factoid: The car BMW wanted in Tomorrow Never Dies was the newly-launched M Roadster. Spotiswode rejected it however, because it 'looked like a station wagon' so BMW relented and let them use the three year old 7 series instead. So they're not complete sell-outs, then.

how many car chase should there be in a Bond movie. After the Ice car chase in DAD ( honoring TLD???) . What good is a new Aston Martin in Bond 21.

True. But if you're Aston Martin, you're launching a entry-level car in 2005 (you've announced Bond 21 will be an entry-level car) would you put in the effort to have them ready for Bond 21? That's one hell of an advert for them.
