My message will simply say:

IOAN GRUFFUD AS JAMES BOND

(PS: I think he will make a good allrounder like Pierce)

He is now 29 years old in 2007 is he 34 or in 2010 he is 37.
That's is to young play 007.

But wasn't Connery two years younger when he made Dr No? A Gruffud 007 would probably be very different from Brosnan, but after five (with luck six) films audiences might be ready for a change in style.

But Connery looked older and more mature in his early 30's (a reason why he probably looked older in his early 40's, think DAF) than Ioan will. Ioan by the way in a recent article, this last week, said he was flattered by the question if he'd be the next Bond thought he was frankly at least 10 years too young and that Pierce was probably good for at least another couple more so he really wasn't thinking about it yet.

Frankly I think his name will hold him back more than anything else, hardly anyone knows how to spell or pronounce it. :)

Yeah, and just look at the way that killed Schwarzenegger's career stone dead. :) And today we are flabbergasted by the notion that in the Sixties there were folks who didn't know how Sean Connery pronounced his name. Now he's one of the world's most famous movie stars.
Seriously though, Brosnan looks to be holding on to the part for a few years yet, so Gruffud has plenty of time to mature into the part.

Well if there was any justice it should have. :) But have you noticed most people just call him "Arnold", at least he has one easily spell-able name... can't say the same for IG. Maybe if he gets the role he'll just be called IG :)

Well, I was thinking about this the other day. Yes, in about 2007 or 10 years time, but not now. Lazenby was 29 in OHMSS, but he looked more mature, as did Connery in DN, who was 33 at the time. Ioan Gruffud looks about 25/26, o he doesn't look right for the role at the moment. Give at few years, and then yes, he could take over from Pierce.
PS, I think his name is pronouced Yo-an Gr-i-ffud

I'd add my name to the list of people who want to see IG as Bond ... but not yet, Bond 22 or 23 maybe. He certainly looks the part and I've heard his name mentioned before in countless places.

My guess is that he's being considered by TPTB, even if they don't admit it (remember they had Brosnan in mind since about 1983).

Hmmmm, let me use a (bad) analogy for this one: Like a fine wine I.G. (as he is now affectionately known) should be left to mature for a few years, whence he will be perfect for the part!

I think Moneypenny here makes an excellent point. First of all, Brosnan is still Bond for the next three or so years. Then, if he intends to do a six film, then we have another two/three years. By then, who knows what will happen, and how "mature" Gruffud is.
