Hey, I just noticed this in the TV mag too. Looks pretty good, ''A BAFTA award tribute'', hosted by Parkinson and 4 Bond actor, should be a memorable night. Pity Sir Sean couldn't be there, but 4 actors is enough for me:D

Apparently, Connery will appear in a taped interview during the show, the first he's given about Bond in several years, I believe.

I'm looking forward to it! :)

From what I read (in one of the Christmas listings guides), it's been recorded especially for this programme, so it should be only a few months old at the most.

Held in London a day before the premier of Die Another Day the BBC will show footage from James Bond: A BAFTA Tribute this Saturday.

The tribute event was hosted by Michael Parkinson and was attended by many people involved in the James Bond world. From producers to actors the telecast promises to show the best highlights of the evening. Bond actors George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan attended the event; Sean Connery was represented by a taped interview. Also in attendance were the main cast of Die Another Day Toby Stephens, Rosamund Pike and Halle Berry.

The event will be televised on BBC1 on 6:10pm this Saturday.

Incidently, the film adaptation of Ian Fleming's childrens story Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will be shown on BBC1 at 1:50pm on Saturday.

I'm not sure that they will, or if anyone would even know about a repeat yet.

I bloody loved this tribute. Dalton talking about his approach to Bond, Pierce, Roger, Connery taped interview, Shirely Bassey singing, every Bond fan should watch it if they can, this is was a class tribute, all the actors involved, great for Bond fans, great to see all Bonds giving their prespective, and great segments as well.

The girlfriend couldn't understand why I kept on laughing like a loon and talking to the television throughout the whole thing.

She thinks I may be going mad.

And so do I ....

Rosumand Pike's contribution on this was just plain silly. She spoke about how, throughout Bond's history, the film makers have never resorted to CGI but have always done stunts for real, and basically how they prided themselves on that. Then she pointed to a relatively minor incident in DAD as proof of how a stuntwoman fell through some glass in place of her, which was for real. However, she conveniently neglected to mention the extremely real, non-CGI stunt extravaganza that was the para-surfing scene. This just made the whole thing she was saying about the stunts sound rather hypocritical and unable to be taken seriously - at least they should've gotten someone else to present that bit and not the Bond girl from the Bond film laden with CGI!
