I was watching Goldeneye today, and this has been bugging me for a while: there are some small bits deleted from it. I have the video which belongs to the collection which, when you line up all 19 videos, makes up a picture on the backs of the cases (if you catch my drift). Well, before I had this viedo, I had a recorded version from when it was on TV. The recorded one, I noticed had more bits in it. For instance, during the fight in the jungle between Bond and Xenia, Natalya attacks Xenia, but Xenia grabs her and headbutts her. This is availabe on the recorded version from the TV, but not on my bought video. Another deleted part is in the Bond/Trevelyan fight on the dish. Its hard to explain this deleted part, as its hard to notice, but I noticed it. Anyways, I found it surprising that the TV version wasn't edited, but the video was. Has anybody else had this, or does anyone know what I'm talking about, and can clear it up for me? Thanks.

I notices this, too. Can't really clear you up, though.

When I saw GE in my German hometown-cinema, they showed the headbutt-included-version. When I say the original English version some days later, no headbutt was to be seen. But in the English version, they showed the dish falling down on 006, which was not included in the German version, I saw before. Seems, there exist two different versions of GE. Why, I don't know.

Anyone...?

Hmm, I didn't see GE until it came on TV, and I can only remember my 007 Collection video, which includes the headbutt, that I bought last year.

The missing moments can be attributed to the work of censors. In the British version of the film, as I understand it, the censors felt it necessary to remove the shot of Xenia head butting Natalia (to name one example noted above). Various censors in varying countries sometimes choose to remove specific instances of sex or, in this case, violence. These cuts, apparently, carry over to various video, television, and DVD versions of the film (which is to say nothing of the involvement of television censors). It's the very same reason that most European cuts of Die Another Day include lengthier versions of the two major sex scenes than the American cut of the film.

Um, I have both the video and have seen the DVD, and they both have all those scenes in them, but then again that is in America, and if the British censors are taking these scenes out, then nevermind this post.

The real deleted scenes, featured on the special features of the UE DVD, are brilliant.

I realise they were cut for pace issues, but I would like to see a Director's Cut with them all in, or something like that.

Dodging the Gaurds:
Provides the explanation of how the Dam gate is opened, also a telephone wire is cut. I love the continuity with the marching being played on their flickering TV, the mysterious Bond's eyes only being shown, and his wraith like stealth akin to that of his bathroom escapades.

No Deal: Now this scene would have been brilliant and sadly is not included in the final movie. Zukovsky dealing with a gun runner who is selling cheap counterfeit rubbish with dodgy firing pins. The gun runner character would have fitted in with the already very stong supporting cast.

Bond rides with Wade/Natalya in the Graveyard: No matter how short these scenes are, I love them. Campbell really created an unique feeling with this film. The eerieness of the graveyard, the grave digger and the church.

No Bugs in the Program:
Nice little scene with Ouromov disconnecting Boris's computer, fearing his practising will be noticed. Ouromov then threatens he will have to call the exterminator. More screentime for Gottfried John and Alan Cumming would have been excellent.
