I really hope it is to do with [*SPOILERS: Highlight to Read] the diamonds though. That would be so original, and everyone will remember that.

Seen as how the topic heading doesn't include a spoiler warning, you'll have to highlight to read.
Possible Spoilers (Highlight to read) It's clear that Rick Yune has had his head shaved. But why is he wearing a cap at the press conference?
Is it possible that both Moon and Zao are transformed using the face changer? I always thought it was strange that we knew Moon would change to Graves to hide from the authorities but Zao would stay with the same face. Surely, his identity would be known as well as Moon's?
I have two theories. First is that Colonel Moon becomes Gustav Graves using the face changer, but the operation goes wrong with Zao and he is left disfigured, e.g. half his own face and half somebody elses, hence he has a "double identity" as Rick Yune mentioned. Of course, the other way to look at it is that Zao becomes Gustav Graves (they both live in Iceland, doube identity) and Moon dies during the operation (or pre-credits sequence). Notice how Will Yun Lee has never appeared at a press conference? Yet, Rick Yune has been to two. This suggest to me that Zao is a bigger player in Die Another Day than Moon and that it is he who becomes Graves.

Confused? I am. Hope I made some sense. :)

Maybe this is due to [*SPOILERS: Highlight to Read] his facial misfortune. Think Diamonds are Forever.

If his role requires complicated make-up effects, wigs, disguises etc (I'm trying to be vague since this is not a Spoiler thread), then perhaps shaving his head might make it all easier and more comfortable.
Or, it might signal the passage of time between the hursuit pre-credits Zao, and the character as he appears in the film proper.
Or, he might be the "Blofeld style" character Mickey G. talked about.

My initial thought was that it was just simply an image change, seen as he's an assasin it would not be unusual to change appearance while travelling. I personally don't think its anything to do with this facial morfing that some people are assuming, but who knows.
