It stands for 'The National Network', though it was originally 'The Nashville Network' but they change the name as they tried to shed the network's country roots.

Why did they do that, is that not a bit arrogant of them
Do they not like people from the Deep South or something? (I think that's what you mean when you say "Country.")

The Nashville Network used to be known for its country and western and Deep South flavored programming.
TNN was bought out and its new owners decided to revamp its image and brought in shows such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and now the Bond movies. They also changed the name to The National Network and all their upcoming attractiuon trailers proudly proclaim it as "the new TNN"

Put simply, they don't have the rights to show them all at this time.
The broadcast rights to AVTAK, TLD and LTK are still owned by TBS and are shown there. GE is showing on the USA network currently, while TND and TWINE have recently run on CBS.

I wonder how one becomes a Nielson household where you get those gadgets on your TV that inform the Nielson TV ratings people which shows are actually being watched.

I tried to do a story on Nielsen ratings in the past and found out you have to be randomly selected to participate in it, unless they've changed the rules since the mid '90s. They don't want people with an "agenda" to be biased on certain shows was the impression I got. Maybe this is how shows like Life With Jim or whatever it's called stay on the air.

I agree with you, DLibrasnow. DVD is the only way to go. It's nice to have the films out there, though, building new excitement. And they may come in handy as I will be spending Christmas with in-laws.

Thats true, there is a shot from TLD in the promos for their 007 Days of Christmas promos.
Is it just me, but I watched a couple of the movies and the commercial breaks seem to be at really illogical moments??!! One of the commercial breaks interuppted one of the characters in mid sentence in OHMSS, and there are other instances of such stupid breaks for commercials.
You would think that with all the hype of the Bond movies on TNN being "uncut" that they would take a bit more care choosing the times to break for commercials.

Who can forget TBS promo for LALD: "Tonight, it's Bond in the hood!"
ABC failed to do the same and no one came to watch.
