In TWINE, Valentin Zukovksy appears to be dead and then picks up his gun and aims for Bond and shoots the chain of his hand. He then falls down again and apparently is dead. But he couldnt survive the shots Elektra gave him and then have the power to shoot bond, smile, and fall back down. I believe that Zukovksy never died in the movie, but was just faking it. Theres no way he could have gotten back up to shoot Bond. He prolly had a bullet-proof vest on. Tell me if you guys know anything or what you guys think about this. I would love to see Valentin come back.

Well, no one ever established that Valentin was actually dead. But it seemed to me that the last time he collapsed, that was pretty much it for him. I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but there'd have to be a really good explanation for why he was there.

I wouldn't mind seeing the return of the Zukovsky from GOLDENEYE, but to me the character seemed very different in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH, much more buffoonish and less interesting, verging on a Russian equivalent of JW Pepper or Jack Wade.

I agree with Loomis, Valentin was different in TWINE and lost some of his edge and intrigue. But I'd like to see him make a surprise return in a future film, perhaps as something more secretive - Imagine the surprise on Bond's face when Valentin shows up.

I read that the producers removed a shot of Bond checking Valetin's pulse so that audiences wouldn't know whether he was dead or not and they would have the option of his return. I think we probably will see him again sooner or later, it would be a shame if we didn't.

I think it is possible that M ran down, after all, she wouldn't jump down like Bond did, and then see Zukovsky, realise he help Bond and therefore help him, get him to a hospital and so on! Yey, keep him!

I also would love to see his return. IMO, he is one of the great characters that are in the Pierce Brosnan movies and deserves a comeback in the world of James Bond. I agree, that it was left open to bring him back later, and I hope they do.

Well, Zukovsky is one of the best Bond charcters ever. I do agree with some of you on the diference in TWINE, as he is much better in GE. Maybe he could have had a vest on, but I really doubt it, even though it could be a homage to Pushkin in TLD. I think that when Zukovsky went donw, it really was the end for the big Russian:(

When I first say TWINE I thought he was dead. The next couple of times I started to change my mind. I think he played dead so Elektra (I think that how you spell her name?) wouldn't shoot him in the head where he didn't have protection. I agree with you ShakeNotStirred, I don't think he could be able to get up and shot the restraint after being shot, I think he did have a vest on. If he's not dead I would like to see him in a future movie again.

I liked him, but I hope he stays dead, he was better in TWINE than GE, but it wouldn't be that cool to bring someone back we think is dead....oh..hmmm, well maybe, if it's done right...

It is very possible that he could return. And I would love to see him in Brosnans last film. He was eaisly his best ally, and he got a great and large role in TWINE.

Yes, I must say, Zukovsky is one of the greatest returning characters in Brosnan's, if not all of Bond's, entire run. Unfortunately -- hate to burst everyone's bubble here -- in the script for TWINE (which I posted in a thread here a couple months ago), he says in clear letters: He is dead. (or something among the lines. "dead" is in the sentence though. I can guarantee that).
