Ice Chase [possible SPOILERS]

Bond is in his AM Vanquish chased by Zao in the Jaguar firing with his machine gun. Meanwhile Graves is aiming his Icarus weapon on Bond's car and hits it hard. 007 is losing control and his car goes over the edge of a 600 ft. cliff. To save his life, Bond uses the ejector seat and is thrown out of the car. He sails down back to earth on the parachute. After that he uses the parachute as a trap to knock a bad guy off his snow mobile and takes this to reach the ice yacht and make his escape.
I think sooner or later all the pieces will fit together.

??? I thought that these were ice yachts.
Thanks for your statements. I would also say the dragster is an ice yacht - or should I better say a crossover between an ice yacht and a dragster car. It has no sails and it features a rocket booster, but it's still kind of an ice yacht. I would also agree with your theory on a brake parachute, but I still think it's connected to Bond's ejector seat in the AM. Well, we'll find out sooner or later.

Therefore there's action all over the place. We have the car chase, we have Graves melting the Ice Palace, we have this parachute scene. Then we have other bits of action with Jinx and Bond, and we don't know where exactly in the film it takes place!

nope....
Vic armstrong has already said that the "ice palace sinking is the climax to middle of the movie" where bond saves jink and presumably they end up in the hot springs-fed lagoon with the northern lights background they're filming in Norway with a small five-man "second unit".
And
Eon also said that the film ends "Where it all began", i.e. the Korean DMZ. This, remember, was confimed by the Korean Actor who turned down the roll of COL MOON for political/cultural/family reasons. He said that his character "fights bond in the first 15 min and last 20 mins of the movie."
cheers, ray

Clopin (24 Mar, 2002 07:19 p.m.):
After reading all those reports from Iceland and finally "a stuntman's story", well, don't you think this report explains a major part of the ice chase? I mean 007 using a parachute? How does that fit to the rest of the chase?

I've been thinking about this today, and as you said Clopin, sooner or later the pieces will fit together. You asked how does the parachute scene fit in with the rest of the ice chase - well, remember the recent picture from Iceland of "The Dragster"? (see below) It is thought that Douglas James, Brosnan's stunt double was piloting the vehicle, so we presumed it would be Bond driving it. Well, it suddenly hit me today - when cars are drag racing, how do they stop? Don't they use a parachute to slow down?
Now, the scene might make more sense. Bond is being chased in the dragster by Grave's men on snowmobiles, he uses the dragster's parachute as a trap to knock a villain off his snowmobile or something like that.
Hope that helped, Clopin.

As far as im aware, the Dragster is an Ice Yaught (not a snowmobile), and therefore is used on Ice, not on snow. Im 99% sure of this, having seen the Dragster being assembled, and from looking at the picture, we can see that there are two arms coming from the back, these make a "T" shape, with a blade at the front of the vehicle, rather like the arrangement of a plane's gear. Because the Dragster is used on Ice, it's likely that the only way to stop it, is by using parachute, because as everyone knows; Ice is slippy, and unless it has another stopping mechanism, this is the only solutution.
So, why is the Dragster, on snow in this picture? I would assume only to stop it sliding around on the Ice (trust me it would).
Well thats my view on the Dragster (i better be in the correct topic), im not trying to start a fued between any particular posters, this is simply my view on the matter, im 99% sure, that the Dragster is an: Ice Yaught.

But looking at the attached image up close you can see The Dragstar inbetween the trees.
