David Arnold's generic Bond theme?

I guess it would be helpful at this point to identify just what, exactly, the I Will Return theme is. Keep in mind that I may not, exactly, be totally correct. I believe it makes its first splash around the middle of Hovercraft Chase, at 1:48, then returns again quite beautifully in the Hong Kong suite (which, of course, ain't on CD). Starting at 0:35, it comes in on the piano during A Touch of Frost, and makes its final appearance at 4:11 during Whiteout's amazing final minute. All in all, it's quite similar to the specific section of the Bond theme (and there are many) that... uhm, opens up Arnold's gunbarrels in TND and TWINE. You know... that little 4 note bit. Okay, my lack of musical understanding is beginning to show..
All I'm saying is that we ought to keep an eye on this little ditty Arnold's come up with. His very own generic Bond theme. And to those who have a problem with Arnold quoting his (and Barry's) work from previous Bond installments, I can only wonder what your problem is with themes and motifs reappearing in a film franchise. I mean, isn't that the point? Maybe I could understand the complaint if Live and Let Die played over a scene of Bond in the bathroom, but... we're talking quick little snippets here and there that only serve to expand Bond's musical repertoire. The descending piano motif of Pipeline making its return in Antonov (is that supposed to be the make of the plane, by the way?) does not indicate that Arnold has run out of ideas.
I'd like to see more of this sort of referencing, actually; I rather miss the part in Bike Chase that begins at 2:43 and goes to 3:11. It surfaced in Come in 007... from 2:31 to 2:51, and I'd kill to hear it in Iced Inc. Then, of course, the meat of Hamburg Break-out starting at 0:36 has a little cameo in Come in 007... at 2:16. These anal retentive times are provided for those who want to see just what, exactly, I'm going on about.
And yes, I'm a new member but have been lurking for about two months now.

By the way when i ll have more time, i think i ll post the missing cues from TND i grabbed from the isolated score. there are tracks that are wonderfull, like the one just after Hamburg Break out, when bond escape Carvers offices.
About the pre-shi chase music in TWINE, i tried to extract them but i failed to deleted the FX (the sound of the helicopter). Maybe should i try one more time.

let's just ignore all of Ms. Solitaire's pointless posts because we all know: she has her, very special, opinion of David Arnold's work and we also know that she won't change it. We had lots of discussion about this (I remember this thread about the Madonna- sticker on the DAD Soundtrack) and I think we all are tired of discussing things that don't have to be discussed ( we all know Arnold's work is outstanding) and in case of Solitaire, it's like try curing Blofeld's insanity.

I agree with Winking Fish. Everyone complains about the reuse of TWINE's music, but who really cares? If it works with the movie, it's okay. And David Arnold definitely was NOT uncreative with DAD. Everyone who saw the movie will agree.
I'm pretty sure that many point at the Soundtrack and say "that's a rehash". I have to say that the Soundtrack represents the score quite poorly. A whole minute or so is missing from the Ice Chase, the pretitle sequence isn't complete and there's one minute missing from the big finale.
Also, it's not really good if every movie brings a whole new music style with it because it would show us a kind of uncertainity. Look, every composer who brought a whole new and unique style to the Bond series didn't do a second Bond, simply because their scores where "too" special for reusing it. Who would really want another GoldenEye-, For Your Eyes Only-, License To Kill- or TSWLM- like score?
The only two composers who brought a fresh style to Bond movies and were able to follow their lines without changing the style of every movie too much were John Barry and David Arnold (sorry, MR. Solitaire). David Arnold took the 007- music to a whole new level in three small steps instead of a big one (TND- TWINE- DAD).

Still, now that Arnold has "diversified" with his Bond scores, I hope that he's gotten it somewhat out of his system and returns the the emotional elegance of his TND score (my favorite one since John Barry's departure.)
