Click on this link ( http://tvplex.go.com...eper/index.html ) to listen to the audio review of DAD from Ebert and Roeper.
Ebert gave it a thumbs-up while Roeper gave it a thumbs-down :)...all because he thinks it could've been called "Groundog day, because James Bond is having the same adventure"

.... someone add 'FORMULA' to his vocabulary please and also inform him that that's what Bond is all about!!!...

Ebert once again calls the film good with him even saying that he "likes it when he's surfboarding down a melting glacier" with Roeper in the background going "that looks so cheesy, that looks so cheesy" :)

Hear it for yourself...or watch it if you were lucky enough to catch it on TV in the US...

[003 Days To Die Another Day (for me :))]

Does anyone know how Roeper rated the previous Bond movies? I need to get a feel of what kind of Bond appeals to him, if at all

Roeper has hated all the PB Bond films. His standard review is..."He's just not Sean Connery...Sean Connery was the only Bond...." Get over it! He did give thumbs up to TND, but he still whined about how Pierce wasn't Connery. Roeper is not a very good critic, in my opinion.

Ebert has given thumbs up to all the Pierce Bonds.

Ebert is a Bond fan, so what do you expect.

Ebert for President :-)

Ebert for President? He gave XXX a thumbs up too, I wouldn't want that man for President. He really likes just the cheesiest of everything (look, he even said it himself he enjoyed that glacier surfing scene... wtf?). Reoper is a bit of a prick if he can't accept that time has gone on and Pierce is the new James Bond but most of his opinions on movies are good I think.

I don't know if he's a fan...with the exception of TWINE, he gave all of PB's Bonds marginal thumbs up. With GE, he said he was "shaken, not stirred"

He likes the escapism and outlandishness of the Bonds (such as TSWLM) but scoffs at the serious Bonds (FYEO, TLD). I can't explain his glowing review of LTK, though

Oh, yeah, he said that he looks forward to the product placements in Bond movies, it's an intregal part of the Bond experience

Aside from being way too far-left liberal, I admire and respect his opinions (except for his review of XXX).

Okay, I have to admit my tongue was placed firmly in cheek when I made my recommendation for President

They no longer air Ebert and Roeper in my market. Instead, I get this cheesy show called 'Hot Ticket' with Leonard Maltin. It used to feature 3 different celebrities each week alongside him, but now it's just him and this other lady critic (don't know her name).

Anyway, they NEVER seem to like anything, but both loved DAD and (surprisingly) gave it great reviews.

Maltin started by saying there was a LOT that he could be negative about (too long; cgi; etc.)...but couldn't help it, because he had so much fun watching the film.

The other critic agreed, and said she even enjoyed Madonna's theme song. (Although, both agreed Madonna's cameo was thankfully short.)
