Alright,

After the recent Madonna debacle, I think that the producers are going to seriously rethink the way they choose an artist for the title song. I think they should go back to the tried and true method of hiring a rock band (Wings, Duran Duran) for the Bond 21 titles.

It would be a great change of pace, as none of Brosnan's films have a rock-flavored theme song.

So, who do you think should do it?

Definitely NOT Aerosmith!

Honestly, if they got the right song written, I think KISS could do one hell of a job. Paul Stanley has a very theatrical voice, and his vocals would be kind of reminiscent of the Bond themes of the 60's.

I'd hate to see some "flavor of the month" band get it, but that's probably what would happen if they decided to go with a Rock band.

My vote for Bond 21's theme song goes to either the Rolling Stones or U2. I really think that Mick or Bono could pull off a song with "Casino Royale" in the title. It's been too long since we've had a good rock band in the Bond franchise -- particularly with a male lead vocalist.

Besides, both groups aren't American, have been around awhile, and really fit in with the Bond formula. Think about it! The Rolling Stones are about gettin' chicks, and U2 is all about world peace!! Two Bond essentials! lol.

Wow. The KISS idea could be great. I do emphasise could. It could be awful. But KISS has what it takes to pull it off. One thing for sure, it would be a title sequence to remember.

I still say that no one has as perfect a voice to do a Bond theme as Paul Stanley does. The big trick with KISS is to make sure that the song is really good and fits the movie. If the song is right, NO ONE could touch KISS for a Bond theme.

If EON wasn't paying much attention, and the song wasn't so hot, then all bets would be off....

I doubt it would ever happen, but Gene Simmons seems to pull off business deals that he has no business being able to make happen - but there he is, getting it done time and again.

Even with Gene's business savvy I don't think that he could convice EON to let KISS do the theme. That's a shame, really.

Sorry to disagree dude, But I am gunning for the Aero's, if we do go down that rock road. I truly think that Steven Tyler & Joe Perry could co-write the theme with David Arnold and come up with a totally kick-*** song!

The reason I say NOT Aerosmith is because they've done that with other movies - and it should be an artist who hasn't done movie theme songs.

I think Creed could do a good title song for Bond 21 or a later Bond film? What do you people think?

I agree 187%, Ray. U2 would be AMAZING for a Bond theme...seeing how Bono and Edge all ready wrote Goldeneye, why not let Adam and Larry give them a hand on the next one? After all, right now U2 is bigger than ever.

Other suggestions: Pearl Jam (I think they could give a...unique effort), Bon Jovi (be nice), Aerosmith, AC/DC, Guns n' Roses, Dave Mathews Band, or perhaps the Hives/Vines/Strokes. And as for rock legends...give it to McCartney (again), Elton, Bowie, Sting or Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend...maybe even Ozzy. Ya never know.

I also like the KISS idea.

:cool:Ozzy??? LOL!! BTW, Creed and Coldplay just suck.

U2 would be the best choice. And they have been known to work well with other people. Gosh, the more I think about it, they just sound 'Bond'

Naw - I'm glad Bono and The Edge wrote a Bond song (one of my favorites) but I really wouldn't want U2 to actually perform one. It's the female singers that really do it for me - it's like some of them are lusty odes to Bond himself. Adds to the mystique.

I lurve the KISS idea, but who I'd really like to do a Bond themesong is Powderfinger (Aussie band). Especially if the film was to be in a darker vein. I think they'd ROCK!!! :)

I don't think it would go over very well. I think the reactions would be the same as Madonna's DAD song, not very good.
