I cannot believe noone here's read the last of Steve Cole's novels. Shame, because it's not only his best, but one of the better in Young Bond series. Yes, it's as good as Charlie Higson's work!
I really liked the plot. I was sceptical about this whole "message from beyond the grave" concept but it was well played and surprisingly believable. As was the story of Bond's parents.
This time Cole created some really solid characters, especially Anya, Bond's Russian companion.
"Red Nemesis" is really entertaining, perfectly paced novel.
And there's a small reference to Poland. Thanks, Mr. Cole
