Okay, I've finally finished reading it. Long story short: it's better than "Shoot to Kill", but overall not as good as "Heads You Die".
Compared to the latter, "Strike Lightning" lacks the sense of adventure, but is almost perfectly paced. There is some action of course, but it doesn't overwhelm the story. The first half of the book is a solid thriller with engaging plot.
To bad the characters are much weaker this time.
There are some really good moments (the World War I references) but overall, it's still not the same league as Charlie Higson.
