Hello friends -
After years of admiring and engaging in (what seems like) every facet of British culture from far away in Canadaland, I'm finally making the trek across the pond this September to spend a week in London. I've got an overwhelming bucket list of things planned to see and do, which includes plenty of Bond-related stops.
I wanted to check in with some of my longtime peers (and London locals) here to see if there's any advice or help you could offer to make the trip as memorable as possible. Specifically, I'm looking for any insights on -
- The best pubs and restaurants in London - the hidden gems, not necessarily the ones you'd find on a Tripadvisor list
- I've left one night open for a pricey, "treat yourself" hotel stay - what are your thoughts on some of the usual best-place-in-London suspects?
- Whether or not the Bond "tours" you can find online are worth it, vs. just putting together my own itinerary to hit the iconic spots
- Anything else you can think of that you'd want someone to know before they visit London for the first time, but might not be easily found with online research
I'm staying fairly centrally for most of the week, right near Waterloo station. Not overly concerned about the trek required to get to certain places, if they're worth it.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much - can't wait!
