Sounds possible, the correction of that story.
Unfortunately, it makes Craig look like just another actor throwing his weight around and causing problems. Most actors I have worked with have absolutely looney ideas about wardrobe, thinking they look smashing in clothes which are totally ridiculous. And it takes directors of the most diplomatic kind to convince them that their stupid idea is brilliant but right now... not really.

Oh, and the gloves aren’t bad, but I’ve found out the hard way that a lot of screen-worn items are SERIOUSLY form over function. Caveat emptor.
Reminds me of a pair of desert boots that not only looked like something you'd pick up at Lidl's, they also showed serious signs or wear and tear after a single day at some carpeted office floor. The guy in the video blog explained he had worn them while driving with his Porsche to work and back. That explains a lot, Porsche drivers are known for using up a pair of shoes a day...

I agree the second story is far more plausible.
I seriously doubt that Craig and Mendes were 'completely miserable' during production of Skyfall. For one, Eon have a reputation of protecting their director freeing them up to creatively make the best movie possible. Second, if it was that miserable during film making then that atmosphere would transcend to the screen (which it doesn't IMO). Third, Mendes would never have returned for Spectre. Most Bond fans know from the umpteen stories from behind the scenes that making Bond movies is hard work but fun. Nice story, but I don't buy it either.

I remember being weirdly sure there was something wrong with the continuity of Bond wearing or not wearing gloves in the Shanghai office building. Never thought it would take on such a life of its own though...
I now presume the gimmick of BOND 25's villain will be having digital hands.

Had a look at it. I don't think they're CG hands, I think he just picked up the gun for the publicity shot whilst he was wearing the gloves. But they shot the scene without them up until the point where he attacks Patrice. We just don't see him put them on, but there is time for him to do it and it would have been an easy shot to insert if it needed it. Take a look;
