Not really sure which section to start this in so I've picked a "spoiler" section to be on the safe side.  Two more articles over the past weekend and today about Bond.

Re; the Telegraph article - I'm not sure Bond is a closet Conservative with a large "C" - small "c" probably, but his views about US meddling in Bolivia in QoS, expressed to Felix Leiter over a beer sounded almost leftist to me! But I'm intrigued by the "secret plan" referred to, which tallies with my views about the intentions of the Craig era from the outset.

The Independent article - I dare say there are quite a few Cbn folk in sympathy with the writer's views.

Wishful thinking on their part. Bond should be apolitical, anyway.

I agree. In the end Bond acts as a "blunt instrument" for the British government - whatever the political complexion of it is!

(Although the closest he's been to a political opinion in the films came in OP - when he confronted General Orlov. "Europe will demand unilateral nuclear disarmament, leaving every border free for you to walk across at will."

A reflection of the times, perhaps?
