Thanks. Odd they waited a week to post that one.

We had the TV-spot on 6th, and they wouldn't want to publish a new Clapperboard on the same day. Better wait three or four days. But by then, Sir Christopher Lee had died, and it could be out of respect that they simply didn't want to go back to normal (and replace their "top" news item) too soon and instead held this one back for another few days.

Yes, good taste IMO. And so was their simple homage with Roger and Christopher. Good crew they got over there. Good show.

197?  How long is this movie going to be?  How many did we get up to on the last one?

165K by the time Skyfall Mannor burned to the ground. But that doesn´t mean a lot, I think. Hard to tell the length of a film by the markings on the clapperboards, I believe.

Good point, that's probably it.

Yes, it looks perfect for Bond. It seems both Mendes pre-title sequences will be frenzied chases through public areas. With this one having members of the public dressed up like this, which is even better.

Hollowed-out volcano? :D

I was going to post that they seem to throw everything but the kitchen sink into SPECTRE - but we already saw the kitchen sink....

Villain's exploding base?  Maybe a pre-climax in Morocco before the ending boat / helicopter chase in London?

There was a location scouted, in Mexico, I believe, that looked like some sort of ancient temple.  Does anyone recall what & where that was?

Nick Grimshaw on the Radio One Breakfast show said he visited Pinewood for a Spectre report the other day.

He talked about going to the top a a 'huge building' constructed on the backlot for the film and getting serious vertigo up there.

This must be it. I think the set must have been completed since this photo was taken.

There were reports that the Mexico helicopter filming had shifted to Palenque, where there are some ancient temples. It's not clear whether they actually used them as a backdrop, or they just needed wide open spaces for stunts.

Does the set remind anyone of the Venice shinking house from CR.......it probably something similar but maybe they blow it up or something.....likely the final official fight scene before the end

The problem with these stunts were less that they needed wide open spaces but the fact that Mexico City is located at an altitude between 2300 and 4000 metres (7400 to 12900 ft). It's not very much recommended to perform complicated helicopter stunts at such an altitude (thin air etc.). One of the reasons (but not the only one) why Bob Beamon was able to do his legendary world record jump in 1968 was the fact that it took place in the altitude of Mexico City.

Palenque, on the other hand is almost at sea level. I doubt that they went there because of the ruins.

Finally! Couldn't wait. I have a feeling Morocco will be the most interesting part of the movie. And with Hoytema behind the camera - the most stylish and visually stunning as well.

Thanks to #11 in the Morocco thread as identifying this as Bab el-Assa.

Check out this photo from a while back:

Wonder if the Bond team renovated that building for the film, or if it was done a while back.

One thing is for sure: we are getting an extraordinarily diverse film. SPECTRE is poised to be the most epic and exotic Bond film of all time. The sheer breadth of this adventure is astounding. I really can't wait for a proper trailer to get a better feel for things. Morocco by far has me the most curious, as I have no idea what role it will play in the film, especially given what we know about it's placement between Austria and London.

Set decoration, I'd say. Paint and canvas. When I first saw this Clapperboard, I already thought that the building looks strangely unreal.

Glorious. I was thinking, based off the extended trailer there seems to be an orange hue with SPECTRE's cinematography. This will surely also continue that visual palette.

With filming over, someone has pulled together various clapperboard images in one page:
