Well, here it is. I just noticed while logging in again today that this is my 10,000 mark of posts since I joined in April of 2002.
I guess it was late in 2001 after attending one of Matt Sherman's BCW events in Chicago that Zencat told me to check the site as it was, but, at the time, I was more about news and not forums.
Social media was in it's infancy, but I did begin reading CBn. Finally, on a late night, I took the plunge and registered. My first post was in a thread "Favorite Roger Moore Quote" - I responded with "What a helpful chap."
Game on and it went from there, but I had decreed my own creed. The right to agree to disagree. With the majority, that worked, with very few (who are now the foundation of our rose garden tended to by Jim's loyal family of scorpions) it did not, but I remained civil.
Then, nearly upon my first year in 2003, I was invited to become a Team member (aka: one of the Mods).
Ups and downs go with that rank/title as I learned but I also learned more than I bargained for about web design and what site development is about.
Ups and downs also go with life. When my father passed is May of the same year, the first flowers to arrive at my family home were from CBn.
One of my brothers had signed for them before I got up to Seattle and he gestured to the arrangement telling me they were the first and only to arrive (many more were to follow) and just shook his head. "You Bond fans...You really take care of your own." My response: "Every bloody day."
There's been many friends and adventures that have taken me to London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Monaco, Las Vegas, Miami, Key West, San Francisco and the Bahamas ....and more to come.
Anytime....Anywhere....Anything....For any Bond Fan.
The adventure(s) continue.
Cheers! and Thanks.
- Bryce (003) Still the blunt instrument and still living Bond so you don't have to.
But if you do, that's cool too.
