While I am not a big fan of George Lucas' digital enhancements of the original Star Wars movies, I have always wondered what items in the Bond movies would qualify for digital correction or improvement.  With time and improved technology there might come a time when the Bond movies could be further "improved" through digital enhancement and "photoshopping".

Here is my list of items that would be corrected/improved/enhanced without too much modification to the original movie:

1) Dr. No : Digitally remove the tarantula on the glass plate and it's shadow, and place the spider on Connery's arm.

2) Thunderball:  During the big underwater fight scene, recolorize the blue scuba mask so there is continuity in the use of the black scuba mask

3) Thunderball: Add some thickness to Connery's hair in underwater scenes.

4) You Only Live Twice: Add stars around the space capsule so it is not so obviously two combined images.

5) You Only live Twice: Remove the palm trees from the Russian rocket launches.

6) Diamonds Are Forever: Digitally enhance the destruction caused by the satellite.

7) Live and Let Die: Add a digital toungue to the rubber snake to improve it's reality.

8) Correct every use of a dummy that has forward bending knees during falls, etc.

I imagine there will be some funny and un-serious comments, so please keep them at a minimum. :P

Digitally removing Jinx from Die Another Day.

Or at least replace her with a sock puppet.

As uncomfortable I was with the sex scene we got, I REALLY don't think I'm ready to see Brosnan getting it on with a sock...

How about we replace her with Jar Jar Binks?

I would use technology to make the sound match the action in the Diamonds are Forever PTS

One step could be to bring in Jason Connery to move his lips to match the dubbed dialogue and digitally insert his mouth over his dad's.

It worked in 'Blade Runner'!

I vote for a fix of something that's been irking me since June 26, 1981: in FYOE, the bit where the gunbarrel iris opens to reveal the first scene is omitted (maybe an oversight, the result of typical 11th-hour soaking-wet delivery of Maurice Binder's titles?).

The intro jump cuts from small iris to full screen, without the usual expansion of the circle. I've yet to read or hear a satisfying explanation for this apparent error.

Lol Jar Jar, messa like.

They shouldn't do any digital correcting.

While we are on the subject. Couldn't they have just flipped the film in DAF when the car comes out of the ally on opposite wheels?...

But didn't they insert a quick shot where the car tilts again the other way?

Moonraker:

Explain why the Americans were lending Britain a shuttle (covered in Wood's novelization);

Kill the f***ing pigeon.

Stop the cable car scene before Dolly appears.

Jaws, left in the exhaust pit with Bond and Holly Gala, helps them escape, escorts them to the launch pad, then leaves.

Insert a few other lines such as:

Goodhead Brand: "This is a model of the NASA/ESC/CCCP space station, presently being built in orbit."

Bond: "If the flow of telemetry to Earth were interrupted, they'd investigate."

Col. Scott: "Please listen. General Gogol - we didn't take over up there."

Technician: "Brazilian military reports raiding the jungle launch site, with the help of a tall man with...metal teeth?"

The list is endless...

Digitally replace Dalton with Brosnan, or better yet with Connery.

Moonraker:

Technician: "Brazilian military reports raiding the jungle launch site, with the help of a tall man with...metal teeth?"

The list is endless...

Fortunately most of these aren't digital corrections. In fact, NONE of them are digital corrections. But hey, you love DAD.

When you say "Kill the f***ing pigeon" do you mean actually slaughter it onscreen or eliminate it from the film?

Just as the trigger is being pulled on the pigeon the camera pans up as the bells of St Marks Square are heard.

A proper volcano eruption at the end of YOLT. And adapt the lighting on the entire scene.

Correction for DAD, not digital, just re-edit:

PTS and credits as we had it, but after that, immediately cut to Bond waking up on the ship in Hongkong. Then go on with the movie until the escape from the plane (omit the ending in that hut with Jinx). Cut to Bond waking up in his North Korean prison cel, uttering the words "Thank god it was only a nightmare." After that Bond is taken out and led to the bridge. Soldiers aim at him, Bond starts walking.

Black screen.

BANG.

End of.

"James Bond won't return. Or will he?"

Yes, it's the Bobby Ewing twist, but it would ad one hundred percent more logic to the entire botch  :D

Again, an audio tweak rather than a digital improvement, but the voiceover at the DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER circus saying "Nairobi, South Africa" needs sorting out. No idea how that got through.

I realy hated it when Lukas did all his digitally correction in his old Star Wars movies, so I'm against it, but... DAD could be improved by BETTER CGI.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure that you don't see Connery at all until he appears on the beach. All the weird editing comes in with the guy who first of all slides into the wall(?) then.. well, the "CAIRO!" line pretty much speaks for itself. Strange.

In a few of the early films the gunbarrel design doesn't match up, often leaving a bit of a black circle in between the barrel itself and Bond. Not sure if it was an artistic choice and I don't have a problem with it personally, it just looks a bit strange.

I say leave them all as they are. The bastardization of the American ABC broadcast of OHMSS in 1976 proved that you should just leave it be. I'm all for the improvements in both sound and picture that the DVD's have been given, but - and it is fun to speculate - take them as they are for what they are.

Can we just digitally remove Die Another Day from the annals of movie history?

Just send every existing copy to me for safe keeping, until everyone simmers down and is willing to accept it for what it is. Moonraker never received quite this much flak in - or since - its day (not even from me).

Maybe only because the internet wasn't around at the time. And just when the internet really was the upcoming big thing, DAD came along. Many of us around here closely followed the production on this site or elsewhere in a way that wasn't possible before, everyone had high hopes (like me) and were rather disappointed with the result (again, like me).

Along with a lot of suggestions already detailed, I'd really like to correct the Octopussy title logo. Quintopussy!?

Even if one counts the "c" as two legs we still only have Septopussy.
