What is your favourite James Bond poster? In the 50+ years that Mr. Bond has graced the Silver Screen, his arrival has been announce through some iconic posters. I think the artwork, varied and diverse, that has gone into the promotion of EON's movies have been fantastic, and are amongst my favourites of any film posters from any film company.

Do you have any particular favourites? Currently, mine include:-

Fella,

The Goldfinger poster you have popped up there is the US half sheet, Not the UK quad.

FYEO with the legs had the biggest impact on me. As a young teenage boy that poster made an impression. :)

I never said whether it was UK or US, when it comes to terminology (quad, half sheet etc) I don't know the exact terms, and think of the portrait format as normal posters and landscape as quads - as I say, don't know the terminology. Thanks for the correction :)

JC,

US Poster names (1 / 3 / 6 Sheet, Half Sheet, Insert, 30x40, Window Card, Subway)

UK Poster names (Quad, DC (Double Crown), 1 Sheet (confusingly))

Most of these are now defunct leaving just the UK Quads and 1 Sheets which can be UK and US.

So the Quad, by definition, is a UK landscape poster and the Half Sheet, by definition, is a US landscape poster.

Cheers fella.;

Easily the hand painted posters with all the little bits of action sprinkled around the edges. The TLD quad poster above is a great example of this, but my favorite is LALD with the tarot cards.

Ha ha ,YES.

I'm surprised my mom let me buy the soundtrack album with that image on the cover!

And the iconic nature of the FYEO poster is still being used today.

For me it's the late 60s - late 70s run of posters.

I can't see the image, but I assume you're referring to the Kingsman one?

Yep, Colin Firth walking with a gun, between the (split) legs of a woman. The twist being, that the lower half of each of the woman's legs have been replaced with blades that Oscar Pistorius would distance himself from...

Ironically (or not) you see no flesh but it seems more erotic than the FYEO one. Those blades are quite gruesomely used if the trailer is anything to go by.

I'd still put SPECTRE's teaser poster up there as one of the best of recent times to give a flavour of the film, that works for both the casual moviegoer and the die hard Bond fan who would spot the significance behind the octopus symbol.

I lean towards simplicity, so the busier style of more vintage posters don't sit so well with me - but I do like the original GOLDFINGER poster.

CASINO ROYALE's teaser with Craig at the casino table is also excellent.

I like all the painted posters the most. OHMSS is my favourite overall. From the modern ones, it has to be Casino Royale's teaser.
