I'm hoping for something awesomely trippy like TWINE's title sequence.

I hope there are more girl silhouettes this time. Skyfall had so few. I would love to see them more used such as in Goldeneye or The World Is Not Enough.

We have a thread for the title singer, but what about the Spectre opening credits? The Daniel Craig films have a tendency to show Craig himself wandering around as Bond throughout, which I hope they continue with. It's nice to see Bond himself punching out henchman who turn into card symbols or him being dragged down to the depths by a giant figure. Daniel Kleinman's title sequences have gotten better and better in my opinion. Although I love the GoldenEye title sequence more so than say, the next three. Die Another Days was interesting though, and I thought Casino Royales was really impressive. Especially with the example aforementioned. I'd love them to use a deep reds and blacks this time. Skyfall was very blue, but I feel Spectres should be blood red. Octopus Symbol would be a lovely inclusion too. Anyone else have some thoughts on what they'd like to see?

Perhaps the mods can merge them?

We already have a dedicated thread. http://debrief.comma...re-main-titles/

Good call, didn't notice that.
Done.

I'd like to see Bond in the sequence again. I had the idea of snow and ice featuring in some way, reflecting the Austria section. Perhaps recreating the octopus logo gunshot from the teaser poster?

Yes, yes and yes. I think you will be right.

The main titles sequence usually are based off of a recurring theme, or element in the film, or setting. Casino Royale dealt with a very colorful, vibrant poker/gambling setting that matched the basis of the film's poker game at Casino Royale in Montenegro. Quantum Of Solace went for a desert setting in conjunction with the films final act. Skyfall ties into the PTS with Bond in the water. I would also say it ties into other elements very well, better than Craig's previous two in fact with an emphasis on the girls, setting, Bond's psychosis and childhood, as well as other little feats that serve as elements for the various locations throughout. I quite love it. I expect Spectre to be more or less, a winter-y main titles sequence - while following a similar formula used for Skyfall's MTS, as well as doing something akin to OHMSS: calling back/recapping the films before it. In this case it would be CR, QOS, and SF.

Have they confirmed if the gunbarrel is at the beginning of SPECTRE?

Nothing officially said, no.

I could totally see that. I also expect some Roman imagery and Day of the Dead stuff as well. Definitely, looking forward to what Kleinman comes up with. Skyfall's title sequence is arguably the series's best. It almost felt like we were seeing Bond's dreams.
I'm also definitely sure we will see the SPECTRE octopus along with British imagery (flags, landmarks, etc.).

I would like to see more girl silhouettes this time. I mean actually SEE them longer than just a few seconds. Skyfall had so few and to be honest, I really didn't care for the title sequence at all. Also, I'm tired of always seeing Bond in the title sequence. Using the Spectre octopus logo mixed in with the girl silhouettes would be cool.

Yes it would make a change not to have Bond in the titles sequence, as he has been in the last 5 in a row.

Well, probably more Goldfinger than OHMSS.
Connery's Goldfinger showed sequences from a previous Connery film. Lazenby's OHMSS showed sequences from previous Connery films, to tie into the whole canon. I am being the absolute essence of pedant, but if SPECTRE''s titles are OHMSS-ish, then they would have to show sequences from the other actors' films.
I realise I have nothing else to offer today, so I will just sit the rest of it out.

Feel free to discuss details of the leaked script in these forums as much as you please after the film's been released.
Don't really want to go back and delete those last five posts (it's nothing that big). Will happen if the discussion on this continues.

Pretty much all of that was potential spoiler. Read comment above.

All right, I apologise about doing that, the reason I felt free to write it is because it doesn't concern the film's plot and it was under the spoiler tags. I would never dare writing something from the leaked script (I haven't even read it, I found the information above in another website. Could very well be fake, as far as I know.

Jim, no worries about editing my accidental 'spoiler'. Pretty funny, considering I've been staying away from spoilers and given I was only throwing around some options based on guesses, in turn based on the posts above mine that still haven't been edited as spoilers! And I've never looked at the leaked script or read any articles or commentary on that. So if I accidentally revealed something spoiler like then I'd be happy for that whole post (and this one) to be removed.
I will not even be watching the trailers beyond the first teaser trailer as I want to remain as spoiler free as possible. That doesn't mean I won't engage in hypothetical or speculative discussion on these boards with others - that's part of the fun. But I won't intentionally be engaging in spoiler discussion.
TBH the amount of spoiler talk on this thread I find disappointing and I wish everyone would keep that kind of discussion for the appointed boards.

Bit difficult to stay away from Bond news on a Bond forum.
Best way to stay spoiler free on message boards is to join a caravanning forum...

Thanks for that.
These titles really are very beautiful indeed. and surpass those of Skyfall by pure virtue of them being less 'busy', I think.
I am actually looking forward to the Cinefex magazine's write up for more detail.

I could watch this all day - absolutely stunning work and makes the theme song even better, and vice versa. A perfect unison.
The "million shards of glass" moment gives me shivers; Vesper is done so perfect, it's haunting.
