Hey all,

I was wondering, has anyone asked Father Christmas / Santa for something particularly James Bond-y this year? Or bought someone the same?

I remember when I was younger receiving the TND VHS Special Edition boxset (with the storyboards, etc.) one Christmas and if anything I'm more pleased at the memory of having been given it than actually receiving it at the time. I'm not expecting anything similar this year, nor have I asked for anything... How about you guys?

How many of you received the James Bond fragrance last year or the year before?! A few, I bet.

In Holland we have Sinterklaas on 5 december, which is basically the same as Santa Claus and I got a couple of James Bond related gifts:

*two scalextric boxes, one Goldfinger box with the DB5 and one QoS box with the two cars from the teaser.

*a Daniel Craig calendar

*two signed Roger Moore books

*two poster mugs (bought at the Designing 007 exibition from TSWLM and Moonraker)

and for Christmas I get another two mugs (FRWL and LaLD).

On 12th December I went to a function at which there was a Christmas raffle. I did rather well out of it - bottle of white wine, boxes of whisky miniatures and liqueurs, and a bicycle chain with a safe combination lock. Not being a cyclist, I donated the chain as a prize at the next raffle, which was at another function I attended the following evening. I also bought a ticket, and walked away with a box of "007 Quantum" bathroom toiletries - deodorant spray, shower gel etc. That's getting wrapped up and put under the tree this year and I will, of course, feign surprise when I open the parcel this coming Thursday.

By the way, do you think there will be a new range of "007 SPECTRE" aftershave and such next autumn? I wouldn't be at all surprised.

(And I'm looking forward to getting a new book out next year titled "The World According To Blofeld's Cat". I'm following the author on Twitter. Should go well with another feline themed book I've got called "The Larry Diaries", about the cat who lives in 10 Downing Street. I know the author of that book - not Larry, of course ;), but the writer. He lives not far from where I live.)

For Christmas 2003, my wife took me to Venice for a long weekend and we re-traced some of the locations from FRWL and Moonraker.

Of course, it was before CR had been made.

I got Sir Rog's Bond on Bond on Christmas 2013, and this year I am expecting to get Pearson's Ian Fleming biography (the Finnish edition from the 70's). When I was a preteen I used to a couple of Bond VHS's every year.

I gave a close friend a personalized James Bond gift box, complete with watch (a Cadence chronograph), a pair of nice drinking glasses, Chopin vodka, and Macallan 12-year scotch. Also enclosed was a personalized letter from Q.

Nice work!

Has anyone received or bought one of the bulldog statues as a Christmas gift? It seems obscure enough not to be blatantly Bond.

I'm expecting 'One Lucky Bastard' this year.

Actually, I am one lucky bastard this year.

I didn't wait for my lady to rescue me after a Christmas Eve ski chase to propose to her - I did it last week, on her birthday.

And although she never cared about things like diamonds before, she now has one of her own - forever.

We may not have all the time in the world, but we're going to make the best of all the time we have...

Enough with the cliches, already.

First of all, many congratulations to AMC Hornet from here in greenest Robin Hood country!

On the subject of Christmas presents, I started my collection of the Swatch Bond Villains watches at Christmas 2008, with the Largo and Blofeld watches. And being in receipt of a bonus payment, early in the new year I added the Goldfinger watch, and began steadily collecting them.

Not exactly a present, but I got my wife, daughter and her boyfriend to watch what I had to tell them was the Bond Christmas film, OHMSS on glorious blu-ray. First time I've done that, but understand a lot of fans do this as a tradition on Xmas eve.

I received one of those last year, along with the Q Scrabble cup. Quality Bond items.

Gala sent me a deck of 007 playing cards. Very sweet of her and an old friend sent me a 007 engraved martini glass. My friends and family find it difficult to buy me anything 007. They figure I already have it. Yes, I do have 40+ 007 themed T-shirts, but I can always use a another. Coffee mugs rock too.

We need to get the CBn store back up and running. I still have two of the shirts, one coffee mug and my Christmas Tree ornament from 2005. I did return home to one package from a friend who "knows the score" as far as Fleming goes. A pound of Blue Mountain roast beans straight from Jamaica which I'm enjoying as I type. Fleming's coffee and writing on a Bond site. That's proper. I'm sure he'd approve.

Yeah, my wife's aunt got me a set of 50th Anniversary playing cards. Quite nice actually! I'd open them but I don't know any card games.

Last year she got me a 50th Anniversary mug, which is my favourite mug. No one else drinks from that but me!
