Or the talk about Bond driving a Fiat Panda in CR. We even had a member here who claimed that this was confirmed personally to her by Fiat's then Director of Marketing, the notorious Lapo Elkann. Of course, it was all bogus.

I don't have a problem with Bond driving a "lesser" car, so long as it's practical to the plot. I mean, we've had Bond drive a doubledecker bus, a Citroën 2CV, a Renault 11 TXE etc.

Indeed. And there is a difference between Bond merely using a car and Bond liking or personally preferring to use such a vehicle. If he has to fly a massive DC3 or drive a Ford Mondeo, he can and he will. The situation always dictates.

Exactly, I remember during production of Casino Royale that the fact that Bond would be driving a Mondeo was practically sacrilege, yet (whilst one big car advert) it was only a hire car and wasn't used that much

With Aston Martin's propensity in naming their cars starting with the letter "V" what could the BD10 called?

Vesper doesn't sound grunty enough.

Vindicator sounds about right and is a nod to the Thunderball.

I think cars with a DB prefix don't get the honoured V nomenclature.  it appears to one or the other.

(I am sticking my neck out somewhat in this respect as I am not a car whiz)

Judging by the trailer, Q Branch has a whole fleet of Aston Martins on hand for agents to use.

This is true for the most part, but there have been exceptions:

That would be awesome. Aston Martin DB10 Vindicator sounds very suitable.

Vantage typically denotes a high performance version of a previously existing car.

There has been a DB2 Vantage, DB4 Vantage, DB5 Vantage, DB6 Vantage and the DB7 Vantage. They were normally made in very small numbers hence they are not well known. The DB7 Vantage however was considerably more popular though and about half of all DB7s were made in the vantage format with the 6 litre V12 engine instead of the smaller inline 6.

Vantage was not used exclusively for DBX variants though. There were also Vantage versions of the 80s V8 (which appeared in TLD), and a Vantage version of the 2000s V8 baby-Aston.

I did not know this, very good!  Learned something today.

Well it's not a Vantage version of the baby Aston: that's just its name. Plus there was a big Vantage in the 90s, and I think the slightly less crazy AMV8 version of that came later.

The DB10 made its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance last week end.  This looks better and better every time I see it!

I think it still looks a bit... bendy :)

It's still wearing Bond's weird numberplate there too.

Regarding the wheels of SPECTRE...

Think these are new. Certainly haven't seen them before.
