German actor Gottfried John, known to Bond fans as General Ourumov from GoldenEye sadly passed away yesterday. He was 72 years old.

Several german newssites are reporting that Gottfried John succumbed to his cancer disease. He was 72 years old. He was a popular german actor who starred in moves like "Otto - der Film", "Asterix and Obelix" or "Berlin Alexanderplatz" He gained international fame by playing  Gerneral Ouromov in GoldenEye, following the trend of german actors playing Bond villains.
