Hello, my lovely darling.

Following the success existence of The 007th Minute series and e-Book, coming shortly "The 007th Chapter", an attempt (doomed to fail and be replaced with massive self-indulgence) to extrapolate key features of a theoretical paradigm James Bond novel from witless, prolix contemplation of the seventh chapter of each.

Quite how this works for the short stories is anyone's guess - seventh paragraph? Suggestions welcome.

Anyway, soon.

Don't say you weren't warned.

I've been thinking about how to tackle the short stories.  The seventh paragraph might be too limited in content.  Another thought was that perhaps the first seven paragraphs could be used, but they're almost always going to involve the set-up.  So here's my thought.  Look at any consecutive seven paragraphs picked from some random spot in the middle of the story (though highlighting them for the readers might be something of a challenge).  Some might be trivial, some might feature some limited moment unrelated to the story as a whole, but however that might be, it could lead to an analysis of the each story from a perspective never before discussed.

Thanks both; will think on. Seventh page may be too edition-specific, so will probably be that "seven paragraphs" one - but thanks anyway.

I was going to suggest the seventh page too.  But whether it's the seventh banana, people will come for the writing.

(You do like a challenge, I note.)

Looking forward etc,

Cheers.

I've quickly re-scanned the seventh chapters of the Fleming novels.  There's some iconic stuff in some of them, while others are going to be a challenge to extrapolate much from.  What I can confidently say, however, is that this series is going to be not only amusing (a given when Jim is writing) but fascinating.

Given that Jim managed to write excellent stuff from 007th minutes that consisted of nothing but credits, I have no fear that this'll be too difficult. I just hope that there's something in each chapter that makes a good basis for the illustrations. Some of those were really challenging for the 007th Minute ebook... (you bet I'm gonna do one for the chapters, too).
