Perhaps I'm just slow on the uptake and this has been mentioned before.... But, I realized a fun piece of trivia or Bond connection.

As we know from Skyfall and the novels, Bond's mother died when he was very young. Her name was Monique Delacroix Bond, and somebody that 007 no doubt regarded as a saint.

In Live and Let Die, the island where the adventure takes place is.... none other than San Monique, or "Saint Monique."

Coincidence, or intentional reference?

Probably coincidence--that film was not particularly concerned with referencing Fleming.

Almost certainly a coincidence.  None of Mankiewicz's Bond films were concerned in the slightest with anything even remotely related to Fleming's novels, so I can't see this being anything other that coincidental.
