I've never experiment with changing the order. When I do my annual marathon, I just watch them straight through from the first to the last. One thing I do however that I'm not sure if others do, is that I watch Never Say Never Again in between Octopussy and A View To A Kill. For me, it is an integral part of the marathon.

Anyone attempting to figure out the continuity in the Bond films will surely drive themselves crazy, as it is obvious that none exists.
Save yourself the trouble.

I just do what I do with any series - from start to end. 'Dr.No' will always be the first and currenlty ending with 'Skyfall'.
I don't count the non-EON films at all in any timeline.
With the actors changing, I just enjoy them too much to question it and they've been established too long. They ARE James Bond.

If Casino Royal & Quantum of Solace are the beginning of James Bond' career as a Double-0, we also know that Diamonds Are Forever follows on from On Her Majesty's Secret Service, for obvious reasons.......is Skyfall Bond's last mission, and if so what order should the rest be in? So forget the EON running order, or that Sean was first, and Roger was the oldest, how do you see your own personal order?
You already started wrong, CR then LALD, QOS does not exist in this dojang. Literary order is the only order, the movies that don't have a book get piled up at the end in order of release year.

What I really like to do sometimes is watching them: first film of every actor, then the second and so on and end it with NSNA when Bond retires with Kim Basinger. It gives you a bit of room for which style of film your in the mood for...

Why do people keep thinking that Skyfall is Bond's last mission/movie? Everywhere I read "Skyfall is the last one, they're doing others", "They're doing another one? That's impossible, Skyfall is the last one"
To me, the movie looks more as a beginning than an ending.

Given the modern day reboot of Bond's character, you can't really string them into a continuity.
If I do a marathon, I start with "Casino Royale" (1954), include "Casino Royale" (1967) before YOLT, and NSNA after Octopussy. The 'other three' are Bond movies to me, no matter what the popular opinion may be.
