If you ever fancied being James Bond, then Silverstone Auctions could make your dreams come true when it offers a stunning 1965 Aston Martin DB5 saloon for auction at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show Sale in November.

The example being offered, estimated at between £280,000 to £310,000, is one of the first entries for the auction and is the embodiment of the car featured in the Bond films, even down to its iconic Silver Birch colour.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: “This is probably one of the most sought-after models in the world and it’s easy to see why. It’s so much more than just a motor car, it’s style personified and possibly one of the best British cars ever made.”
Being auctioned at its sales on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th November, it is a matching numbers example in original right-hand drive.
And just like James Bond, this DB5 is no stranger to glamorous locations, having spent much of its life in Australia before being returning to the UK in 2012.
Since then it has benefited from an exterior restoration, refreshing the paintwork and black leather interior, and also a detailed mechanical refurbishment.
“With the DB5 once again featuring in the most recent James Bond blockbuster ‘Skyfall’, it has further cemented itself in both film and motoring history,” added Nick.
Presented with the car is an in-depth history file which includes invoices from various marque specialists, plus images showing various aspects of the work undertaken on the car.
