This is probably unavailable online (behind a paywall, anyway), but there's an amusing interview with William Boyd in today's Times magazine, and an extract from the first chapter which is pretty sound stuff.

Interesting decision to open with Bond reflecting on his war service. The interview does heavily hint towards a Biafra-style conflict, so it probably foreshadows all that pretty heavily. Some gratifying food porn in the extract. Nice to read about breasts in full swell. Seems solid so far.

I recall the Times' initial serialization of Devil May Care, and being surprisingly underwhelmed, given the hype.  Solo hasn't received nearly as much buildup, but this looks promising.

Boyd comes off well, though the interviewer is a smug dunce.
