According to this he spent 44 hours in the air for 7 breathtaking minutes on screen.

Hearty round of applause for Ken Wallis!

I'm very sorry to hear this.  He's been a great showman and a long-time favorite of Bond fans.  RIP.  We'll miss you.

Ken Wallis' life was extraordinary - having read a biography of him and watched a DVD about his life, he came across as an aviation version of "Q", but with more than a bit of Bond's bravura. Some of the gadgets he invented would not have been out of place in "Q"'s laboratory!

This is very sad news for both Bond fans and aviation enthusiasts, and I'm both.

RIP, Wing Commander Wallis.

A true legend of the Bond films, and an inspiring mind.

RIP Wing Commander.

I was very lucky to have meet the Wing Commander on many visits to PInewood, not only would he bring Little Nellie every time, he would take questions sign autographs, he was just a very nice gentleman, and a sad loss today for the Bond family. Now you truly deserve your wings. Thank you Ken.
