James Bond back in Murren planetski july 01 2013 http://www.planetski.eu/news/5095

The Swiss resort was the location for the secret lair of Blofeld in one of the early films and last weekend James Bond flew back in by helicopter.

George Lazenby was in the title role for the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service back in 1968/69 when the film was shot and released.

Last weekend he returned to open a special James Bond exhibition.

300 invited guests were present and 1,000 people came to see the opening of the exhibition.

The revolving restaurant at the Schilthorn served as the villain Blofeld's mountain headquarters and was duly named Piz Gloria in the film's honour.

As well as George Lazenby at the opening there was the British Ambassador to Switzerland, Sarah Gillett.

Annina Frey hosted the event with the assistance of four Bond Girls.

Actors and film crew members involved in the 1968/69 shoot were present too including John Glen (Special Unit Director), Terry Mountain (Raphael) and Sylvana Henriques (Angel) as well as local stuntman and film producer Stefan Z├╝rcher.

The exhibition is now open to the public.

"Many guests and BOND fans visit the film locations. Until now, visitors expecting to learn something about James Bond on the Schilthorn were disappointed. BOND WORLD 007 rectifies this and adds a new dimension to the world of James Bond at 2,970 metres above sea level," said the CEO of Schilthorn Cableway, Christoph Egger.

It is an interactive exhibition selecting and addressing seven scenes from the movie. There is also background information such as a world map featuring all Bond locations.

People can also take a look at the original screenplay and try out their own James Bond skills.

This includes throwing a hat onto the coat hook in Miss Moneypenny's office to an exhilarating bobsleigh ride.

I'll be heading to Switzerland in December/January, and I'm sorting everything out to visit Piz Gloria. Pics, etc would follow.  :)

As a Bond fan, i'm very much looking forward to seeing first hand photos & reading accounts of what this attraction will be like. Has anyone else managed to visit it yet? I'm keen to make a trip and am trying to get as much info as possible ie. prices, availability, booking etc.
