Orchard Vale Community School are hosting a catwalk show tonight with a James Bond theme to raise money for the school.
Around 60 children aged five to 11 from the school, complimented by ex-pupils and staff members, will be modelling clothes donated by Sainsburys, Mothercare and New Look.
As well as the big chain stores, local shops Boutique 28, Daws and Always and Forever have also donated a number of items to the show.
The schools Project Co-ordinator Dawn Crabb, who has been at the primary for eight years, said the school hopes to raise around £500 from the event to use for various projects.
“It’s the third time we’ve done a show like this and we do it because I know how much the children love it,” she said.
“It’s great that on the night it always just comes together and that is down to our staff, who give up their time.
“I would like to acknowledge them because they do things outside of working hours without ever complaining.
“Every year we have a big finale and this year we wanted a really good giggle and cheer so we chose Bond as a theme.”
As well as the Bond theme, former pupils of the school will be featured in a prom section, with dresses donated at the last minute by Bideford-based Always & Forever after the original donor pulled out last week.
Denise Burgess-Farrant, who runs the shop with her husband Andy, said: “We just wanted to help out as they had been left at the last minute. They’re local and they needed a hand.”
Miss Crabb also reserved special praise for the school’s caretaker, Alan Goddard, saying: “the show wouldn’t be possible without him putting together the stage and doing all the lighting. He’s even modelling in the show.”
The two-hour show kicks off at 7pm at the school this evening, with parents and members of the community in attendance.
