Film plot

Quantum are back. After one of its agents assassinates James Bond’s (Daniel Craig) friend and host at a dinner in Japan, Quantum becomes MI6's top priority target. When information vital to Britain’s national security is stolen, both M (Ralph Fiennes) and Bond suspect that Quantum is behind it. The trail leads Bond from Brussels to Nepal and up the icy heights of the legendary mountain Kangchenjunga. Led by a former Squadron-Leader, Roland Marquis (Thomas Kretschmann), aided by professional mountaineer Lisl Baum (Rebecca Ferguson) and opposed by an unknown traitor working out of MI6 itself.

I haven't read "High Time To Kill" myself, but it sounds like an intriguing plot idea you've got going, Gala.. :)  Just for myself, I would make Quantum a revamped S.P.E.C.T.R.E and maybe alter the MI6 traitor aspect, as it's been done too many times (Miranda Frost in DAD, Craig Mitchell in QOS, Alec Trevelyan in GE, and even Silva, to some degree in SF). But otherwise, this sounds great!

Thank you! I'll see what I can come up with the traitor aspect (I do see where you're coming from), what do you think of the casting?

Those cast pics definitely have looks for Bond..not very familiar with any of those names myself, but having generally unknown actors and actresses is what makes the Bond films so appealing to me in many cases.

instead of your usual traitor make him or her a triple agent loyal to Mi6 that feed false information to foreign country

I definitely want to keep the traitor working for Quantum to keep it as truthful to the novel as possible because at the end of the novel a traitor is revealed. Although, I also want to do in a completely different way to how it's been done before i.e. Silva, Trevelyan and Vesper.

The girls you've chosen are all lovely. I really like Rebecca Ferguson and could see her in a Bond film. Kretschmann would make a great villain. I liked him a lot in Valkyrie.

1. Well I haven't read any of the continuation novels so I really can't be of much help as far as that goes. Don't have to PM me about it.

2. Very attractive female cast. Not as fun as a cast as I would hope for in a make believe setting. I mean I haven't really heard of these actors before.

3. Never heard of him and doesn't seem to have a wikipedia or IMDb page... a friend of yours perhaps?

4. The 7th season runner up on The X Factor? Really?

1. It doesn't matter if you have read them or not as I will be doing all the adapting and the reason I messaged you was to get people interested and see if you might have been interested. All I'm trying to do is have fun making this project and if no-one looks or gives their opinion, how am I meant to enjoy it as much as other Fan Fiction discussion members who get opinions?

2. No-one really heard of the cast of Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace and that didn't make a difference. It's not about the cast being fun, to me it's about the right people for the parts.

3. No, he's a real actor and he does have a IMDb page if you look properly: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0365317/

4. Obviously not, she's a real actress in the current British TV series, The White Queen. http://www.imdb.com/...2581/?ref_=sr_1

Also, you could always look the book up and compare it to that? There's plenty of pages about 'High Time to Kill', which gives you the plot and one site even gives you the full book in summary:

1. Oh, ok. Cause I've only read a few of the Fleming books.

2. Fair enough, but who is to say otherwise if know one has seen their work. Just saying.

3. My mistake.

4. I stand corrected, she was first one to come up in my search that's why I asked.

Who do you have planned to do the theme song?

I was thinking of having a band either Arctic Monkeys as I enjoy their music and their cover of Diamonds are Forever or Alt J as I enjoy their music too and I feel like they could come up with something phenomenal.

Interesting.

I'd need to read it two or three times to grasp what's going on, there are a lot of characters. Also, I thought you were cutting down on the Himalaya stuff, but there still seems an awful lot left in, albeit not the same scenarios as in Benson's novel.

Character wise there are less than in the novel and all of them adapted from the book, apart from Felix Leiter. I've swapped some of the girls around to make it more modern and fit with the Bond film style and instead of having a third Bond girl, I used Moneypenny in her place.

I was cutting down the Himalayan stuff but as the adaption went on, it seemed best - to fit with the story - to keep as much as I felt was needed. I should really say it's loosely based but I just took as much as I felt would work. Thank you for reading it anyway.

Apart from there being a lot of characters, what do you think of casting?
